I'll take real speed of draw, miss, over too slow, any day, regardless of tight group

I wish I could remember which of the old west gunfighters it was but they said that he wasn't the fastest draw, but he was the most accurate shot. So. the first shot to hit it's target settles the fight. Four fast misses just causes danger for people not even involved. Accuracy is number one, speed and accuracy is great, and takes a lot of practice.

Believe it was Wyatt himself, also believe Wild Bill believed in hitting the target over missing.

Why not just leave the gun unloaded and rely 100% upon the "element of surprise"?

Funniest post ever! It's going in my tagline

why do you equate being accurate with being SLOW? i have won MANY matches, after missing 1-2 times, and any top IPSC or IDPA hand will tell you the same thing. I can miss 1-2x and still hit faster than the typical cop can fire the first time, Just cause you are slow on the draw does NOT mean that you don't miss, lots of shots, not just the first one. A gun going off in your face, when you have no ear protection, IS going to make you flinch, you know, at the typical ranges (ie, 10 ft and less) of justifiable civilian self defense.

Of course you have. Because you're just that awesome. You can get 4 shots on target in 3/4ths of a second.
I'd like to see that. Why don't you make a video of it and show the splits on the shot timer? Show us how it's done.

Practical application of "gunfighting" skills in the real world is not equal to winning a game in a controlled environment.
