If you oc how often do someone ask to see your permit?

Once.

Funny story, completely different incident...I was in a mall open carrying when two real city police officers approached me. They politely informed me that the mall was private property and had a policy against firearms. I mentioned that I looked for signs on the doors and didn't see any, but I understood that none were required. They said just cover it up and it won't be a problem, so I put my shirt over the gun. That was it. No asking for a permit or anything.

Buried in the middle of the "Code of Conduct" sign posted inside the doors was the "no firearms" line.

Unfortunately, in Washington state it is the law that if a LEO asks to see your CPL, and you have your CPL in your possession, you must show it to them, whether or not you are carrying a concealed pistol. Of course, if you are not carrying a concealed pistol, there is no requirement to have your CPL in your possession.

NEVER. In WA not required any way. I've mentioned this before, but to reiterate; I've never had a negative encounter in over two years of OC'ing. A few questions, but that's it.

been carrying open and concealed over 30 yrs and never asked for permit. One time during a traffic stop I informed officer of CC as I handed him drivers license, insurance card and CCL

Permit? What permit? None required to OC in Louisiana.
Remember that you are posting to a internet forum with readers/posters from every state in the Nation and even people who live outside of the USofA. Different States have different laws or requirements. Just because your City or State may require a permit to carry does not make it so for many of us sharing this forum.
A better way to ask your question would have been like "I live in a state that requires a person to have a permit to open carry and have never been asked to show my permit. If you live in a state where you must carry a permit while OCing, have you ever been asked to present your permit?"
That tells the rest of us that you understand that not all places make you get a permit to OC and that you are specifically asking those who live in such places to participate in your thread.
Sort of like asking "Why can't I legally buy hollowpoints?" or "How many guns have you registered with the local Sherriff?". See what I'm throwing down?

In the close to five years I have OC'd on a regular basis, I have never been asked to show a permit for the simple fact that in Virginia, no permit is required to OC. Here, open carry is the default (as in normal or standard) mode of carry where concealed is the exceptional mode.

I assume by "someone", you meant an LEO. Obviously one would never show a permit to a non-LEO.

Except on my property, I don't oc. Don't want to be the first target of a BG. Just sayin....

Then why did you post a non-related answer to the question posed in the OP? "If you oc..." You don't. Therefore no answer requested. Did you absolutely need to express your unsubstantiated fear of becoming the first ever open carrying Joe Citizen who was the first target of a BG? Just sayin....

Yale if you had something to say bout my question why you didn't just keep it to yourself if you weren't gone answer the question you shouldn't have posted a comment at all.. Jus sayin

Never been asked, I dont do it often, once I did get out of the car in wa. Went in Starbucks and they gave me my coffee free. Was dressed nice with a tie. They must of thought I was a detective?

Haven't been asked either. Michigan residents don't seem to care. I have had a few Illinois ppl look at me like I'm nuts but that's because they are from a communist state. I tell them go back to shitcago. Sorry Illinois but y'all need to move out of there to boycott the worst firearm laws ever. Cant defend yourself. Wow!!!! You're the only state left!!! Fight for your rights! I get off track easily on these forums.
Forgive me.

Yale, I live in a state where open carry does NOT require a permit, and yet I HAVE been asked for my permit for open carrying, once. I answered the OP's question. Just because a permit is not required does not mean that one won't be asked for anyway.
