How do you carry in your car?

When I went to see the review of this forum the review said it was just another gun forum boys club.... they were wrong.. its not a boys club, its a Punk boys club
.

Can I ask where you went for the review ? If it's a better site I'll go there to learn.

I have stage 3 cancer defending this country, and you laugh? Boys club indeed..

Not laughing about your cancer or that you're a retired military guy - just about what seems to be a communication gap. Like - firefighter was joking and you're taking it soooo seriously.

When I went to see the review of this forum the review said it was just another gun forum boys club.... they were wrong.. its not a boys club, its a Punk boys club.. you know the punks you see on the street disrespecting old people and laughing at them, they walk around with their pants around their knees and grab their crotch... then come here to disrespect old people and disabled combat vets... then say hope I have a sense of humor??? sense of humor??? I have stage 3 cancer defending this country, and you laugh? Boys club indeed..

I will pray for your full recovery, or admission to Heaven if the former not be God's will.

There is nothing preventing me from genuinely praying for either of the above circumstances, while at the same time asking you to retire that planet-sized chip on your shoulder you showed up with. Any chance of that happening?

My carry gun stays in the holster on me. The truck gun rides in a holster mounted inside the center console. I'm left handed and between the seat contour, seat belt and the door being in the way, I just decided to have a gun dedicated to in the truck use. The console has a shelf that's just big enough to hold 4 speed loaders (2 loaded with JHP's, 1 loaded with CCI snake shot and a 4th loaded with my RNFP reloads for mercy rounds for injured animals) and a SOG Pentagon II folder, too.

It seems, upon multiple requests, he won't provide that review...I think it's made up like the information he uses to support "kinetic shock".

Critique is not disrespect. I respect service members, as well as, cancer patients and old people (a fairly relative term by the way).

This Forum, like many others, is quite diverse. You have people that have been carrying for decades with a lot of experience and people that just started carrying. There will always be differences in opinion. Deal with it. There are always hot topics, such as open vs. concealed carry, caliber debates, and old school vs. new school thinking. Discussions are sometimes emotional. Deal with it.

Part of the diversity is also that you have Forum members with real life experience, including you and me. There are some things that I know quite a bit about and quite a lot of things that I know nothing about. However, I am not using my real life experience out of context to make my arguments look better. My experience with car accidents is quite real. Everything that is not properly affixed to the car becomes airborne (even in a low-speed accident). The already posted 1986 Miami shootout is an example:

The initial collision that forced the suspects off the road caused some unforeseen problems for the agents, as the FBI vehicles sustained damage from the heavier, older car driven by Matix.[8] Just prior to ramming the Monte Carlo, Manauzzi had pulled out his service revolver and placed it on the seat in anticipation of a shootout,[8] but the force of the collision flung open his door and sent his weapon flying. Hanlon lost his .357 Magnum service revolver during the initial collision, though he was still able to fight with his Smith & Wesson Model 36 backup gun. The collision knocked off Grogan's glasses, and there is speculation his vision was so bad that he was unable to see clearly enough to be effective. (A claim disputed by the FBI's Medical Director, who stated that Grogan's vision was "not that bad".) Grogan, however, is credited with landing the first hit of the gunfight, wounding Matix in the forearm as he leaned out of the Monte Carlo to fire the shotgun at Grogan and Dove.[9] (from 1986 FBI Miami shootout - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia)

While you feel disrespected, it seems that you don't respect anyone else in this Forum. Understand that some of the people you exchange comments with are service members and/or deal with severe illnesses. If you just start rambling about things, ignoring other comments and changing topics on the fly then expect to be ridiculed for your posts. That still doesn't mean that your service or illness is disrespected.

I have an IWB hoslter for my Glock 27 and Kimber 45 cal. I usually have my shirt untucked pulled out over the seatbelt and the top of the holster (along with the weapon grip area above the belt line) above the seatbelt. At the 3 o'clock position. Otherwise, the seatbelt would effectively prevent me from accessing my weapon quickly. For those times I use a shoulder holster, I generally have an inner T-shirt with possibly a Columbia unbuttoned shirt over that which conceals my rig but affords quick access.

Just out of curiosity, how did this thread go from "how you carry in your car" to "I am the most knowledgeable person in the world, and your all idiots and hood rats"?

The same way hundreds of other threads on this forum have. Some people cannot tolerate opinions different than their own, and some people cannot admit when they are wrong when they state something as a fact and then proven to be erroneous when actual references are cited to show their error.

If you read back through the thread, I think that transition can be traced straight back the same person who posted the OP.

First of all This was my thread to start...I asked " How you carry in your car" I didn't say " what do you think of the way I carry" it was a simple question of interest... there was no critique solicited.. in my second post in the thread, I mentioned this is how I do it... and have been doing it for many years... the disrespect came from the same three individuals that have stuck their finger in the eye of many people who come here and their history in disrespect could be the reason this forum gets the boys club tag... I didn't come here to fight with anyone... yet that has been the case ( but only in threads where I allowed it to happen )... only because, as a Man... i'm not going to take some internet boys club members to disrespect people because they are old or suggest that I am a Rambo or an actor in a Movie of ridicule... so as you see, I don't turn the other cheek, and I don't come here to fight, but I've paid my dues and expect some respect... this is a small potatoes forum with a few dozen regulars with very specific personalities...and a few are a waste of my time... I still enjoy trying to help people and offer my opinion... and in most case that is how I qualify it.. I also said in that thread.. I don't care how any one carries in their car ( its none of my business ).. I just was interested in how they carry... nothing ulterior, or sinister.. Funny thing is every other forum of real substance that I am on, there is a high level of respect, and a mutual sharing of knowledge with out the condescending nature found here. In the gun forum review.com this place get some real bad feedback, but Ironically out of the 100 or so gun forums, most have similar characteristics .. this isn't typical of all internet forums..IM on an Automotive forum for 13 years, 2 photographic forums, a high end wrist watch forum.. and this childishness is not typical in any of them... there is a big difference in opinion and disrespect.. opinion is usually delivered with some tact....that is when the opinion is delivered by a mature person... disrespect is a tactless unsolicited editorial about someone else's point of view. the three people I have on ignore, have been here a long time...and it didn't take me long to find their input here to be worthless... childish, tactless, and disrespectful...

Post 14 Navy derailed from vehicle carry to concealment carry.

Post 15 from ET is where the thread derailed into disrespectful drivel.

Post 16 & 17 continued E T disrespectful rants.

Everyone was on topic until 14 - 17...but ET doesn't have the ego to claim his own actions.

Now he wants respect? Pfffff. I might back off the pissing contest with ET, not out of respect, but out of pity with the cancer he is going through.

... the disrespect came from the same three individuals that have stuck their finger in the eye of many people who come here ...

Navy and I had on topic, non critiquing posts.

There was a blonde who went to the doctors, she told him her entire body was broken. As she pushed each spot she would say, "ouch see it's broken." The doctor said, "no...your finger is broken."

...but I've paid my dues and expect some respect...

Respect isn't expected, it's earned.

...In the gun forum review.com this place get some real bad feedback...

Gunforumreview.com? How about Link Removed Looks like usa carry is doing just fine.

...and it didn't take me long to find their input here to be worthless... childish, tactless, and disrespectful...

It didn't take long for you to alienate yourself as well.

Pretty much where I had it placed also. Just wanted to verify it. Thanks

I very sincerely apologize for derailing the thread.

Lol I don't care that it wasn't on topic...albeit tied into a response that was also not on car carry...maybe I was wrong, maybe ET derailed it by bringing up retention systems...oh well I think it's a valid question.

So you wanted a thread where everyone is supposed to post their own opinion without critiquing yours? You should have made that clear in your very first post!! It would have been a quite uninteresting thread. I will try remember that for future reference and just ignore your posts, unless they are explicitly directed at me. I am always interested in a discussion, especially if opinions are contrary to mine.

As I said before, rambling about things, ignoring other comments and changing topics on the fly, especially in your own thread, gets you ridiculed. This is exactly how these tit for tat comments start and run out of control:

I delivered my opinion with tact. You just didn't care. Read my post #12 for clarification. You started insulting NavyLCDR in post #15, right after he replied to your comment in post #10. Right after that, in post 16, you insulted every poster in this thread and opened yourself up to ridicule.

As for being childish, tactless, and disrespectful, look in the mirror.

Careful...you are on the verge of being a punk kid.

In the truck, my pistol rides in a 5.11 Thumbdrive holster. It is attached to the 4wd shifter on the floor with a Ram Mount system. Easily reached and very secure if an accident were to occur. The ONLY time it is left inside when I am not in the vehicle is when I am at work, but it is parked within my view, locked, and a ball cap is placed over it to keep it from plain view.

ET, I feel for you brother. I went active duty in '75, so although I never saw combat, I was military trained and I'm an old guy too. I followed this thread from beginning to end, though, and I think it went bad at post 15, which pretty much broke the respect barrier imho. I wish you all the best with your health and respect you greatly for your service, but I don't see anything that speaks to your age in the posts. Just my opinion.
