I have a conceal permit, But i have a guy telling me he can give me a class for a Federal premit good for all state's " that issue permits" Dose anyone know if there is such a thing?

Not yet. I could be wrong but the only way I know of to do this is to become a LEO. Even getting multiple out of state permits will not cover all states. I have GA and can get FL, UT, AZ. This still leaves

Permit Not Honored:
California, Connecticut, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Jersey, New York, Oregon, Rhode Island, South Carolina, Guam, Puerto Rico, Virgin Islands, District of Columbia

Right Denied:
Illinois, American Samoa, N. M

Looks like Arkansas gets you about the best coverage. Don't know how good the laws are in general and you have to be a resident.

Ask for more information from him and let us know.

The guy is wrong about that subject so take that as a warning and run away. There is not currently a Federal permit and anyone that wants to "give" you a class wants to "take" your money.

No ... There is a map of states that honor the license of other states, and some states have a lifetime permit that would be honored in other states, but no Federal permit that I've ever heard of.

Thanks guys, yea I thought it was BS.. My Utah permit covers enough states for me except New Mexico and Nevada. Going to have to get one in Nevada since I spend time there"going to Vegas without gun" Scary! Thanks for the input and information !!!

As far as I know the only way to do that is how I did it..get ur NV , UT. & FL & u'll b legal in all 30 states wth CCW. That's what I did.I live in Las Vegas.

Sorry but he is misleading you..

H.R.218 should cover me in all states as a retired LEO but some states have indicated they will not honor it.

What a country when even retired cops have a problem carrying in some states. A few months ago I heard there was "talk" about having a fed permit .... guess that is dead for now.

See Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2012 (S. 2213). This is currently in the Senate, and there is a similar bill currently in the House. Think this would make it easier to have one standard and to carry across states and not have to worry what the states guidelines are.

Here was a response I got when I sent Sen. Cornyn an email requesting info on the bill;

Thank you for contacting me regarding the Respecting States' Rights and Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act of 2012 (S. 2213). I appreciate having the benefit of your comments on this matter.

As you may know, I am a cosponsor of S. 2213 which was introduced in the Senate on March 20, 2012. This legislation would allow citizens with a valid concealed carry permit in one state to travel and carry through another state that authorizes similar permits. Permit holders would be required to know and obey pertinent state laws and ordinances while traveling.

I support allowing law-abiding Texans with Concealed Handgun Licenses to protect themselves, and their families, while traveling to other states. It is essential to safeguard the law-abiding citizen's constitutional right to own and use firearms designed for legitimate purposes such as hunting, target shooting, collecting, and self-protection. Restricting this right runs counter to the intent of our Founding Fathers, who expressly guaranteed that citizens would retain the right to keep and bear arms. S. 2213 was referred to the Committee on the Judiciary for further consideration, and as a member of that committee, it is my hope that this important legislation will be quickly approved by the committee and brought to the Senate floor for debate.

I appreciate the opportunity to represent Texans in the United States Senate. Thank you for taking the time to contact me.

Sincerely,
JOHN CORNYN
United States Senator

So, bottom line, if someone now asks you to buy Fed permit license, ask if it comes with free snake oil.

Why go without a gun? You can keep a loaded gun in your car, and open carry if you would like. Probably would be asked to leave the casinos pretty quickly, but it is legal until asked to leave.

Nevada permit isn't difficult, just annoying to get. Nevada currently recognizes Arizona so if you get an Arizona permit, that might get you around the required class and qualification you would have to do every five years.

I hope to NEVER see the Feds get involved in concealed carry licenses. Given the unpredictability of the D.C. environment, you could have a Federal CCW permit one day and it'll be repealed the next.

By having the states doing their license "thing", it's much more difficult for the Nancy Pelosi types in D.C. to disarm law abiding citizens.

Yep hope the feds don't get involved! Going to get Arizona then I can pack in Vega! So much good feed back! You guys are knowledgeble and awesome !!!!

Not sure why cops, unless on a specific assignment but even then, should get any more rights than the citizens they serve..let alone retired ones....
