Didn't intend for it to be refreshing... His rant was delusional, contentious, and again playing to nothing but irrational fear, in a childish manner.

Also can't help but bring to your attention that I don't recall where you have singled out a theist for name calling.

Only because you complained about name calling and you insist on hanging out in a thread that is the antithesis of your beliefs. You are either a glutton for punishment or you want to harass these folks. Is there a third option? Seriously, ignore them/us and go about your business. Otherwise, it's on you.

We've been over this before. If you post your dogma in open forums you can't complain. If you wanted an uninterrupted discussion you should have went to forums we don't got to... christian.com/forums

You are correct. This is an open forum. I guess this is like sport for you guys. Have fun.

Romans Road to salvation
The first verse on the Romans Road to salvation is Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God." We have all sinned. We have all done things that are displeasing to God. There is no one who is innocent. Romans 3:10-18 gives a detailed picture of what sin looks like in our lives. The second Scripture on the Romans Road to salvation, Romans 6:23, teaches us about the consequences of sin - "For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." The punishment that we have earned for our sins is death. Not just physical death, but eternal death!

The third verse on the Romans Road to salvation picks up where Romans 6:23 left off, "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 5:8 declares, "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Jesus Christ died for us! Jesus' death paid for the price of our sins. Jesus' resurrection proves that God accepted Jesus' death as the payment for our sins.

The fourth stop on the Romans Road to salvation is Romans 10:9, "that if you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved." Because of Jesus' death on our behalf, all we have to do is believe in Him, trusting His death as the payment for our sins - and we will be saved! Romans 10:13 says it again, "for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved." Jesus died to pay the penalty for our sins and rescue us from eternal death. Salvation, the forgiveness of sins, is available to anyone who will trust in Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior.

The final aspect of the Romans Road to salvation is the results of salvation. Romans 5:1 has this wonderful message, "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." Through Jesus Christ we can have a relationship of peace with God. Romans 8:1 teaches us, "Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus." Because of Jesus' death on our behalf, we will never be condemned for our sins. Finally, we have this precious promise of God from Romans 8:38-39, "For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord."

Would you like to follow the Romans Road to salvation? If so, here is a simple prayer you can pray to God. Saying this prayer is a way to declare to God that you are relying on Jesus Christ for your salvation. The words themselves will not save you. Only faith in Jesus Christ can provide salvation! "God, I know that I have sinned against you and am deserving of punishment. But Jesus Christ took the punishment that I deserve so that through faith in Him I could be forgiven. With your help, I place my trust in You for salvation. Thank You for Your wonderful grace and forgiveness - the gift of eternal life! Amen!"

Have you made a decision for Christ because of what you have learned through the Romans Road to salvation? If so, let me know. :)

Sorry, I skip right past verses. I'm sure it was uplifting though.

No problem. Hopefully someone will get something out of it.

Again let me point out that you only attack atheists for name calling, when several theists active in this thread have cornered the market on insults and name calling. Just a wee bit of a hypocrite?

And as you acknowledged,

I don't agree that ignoring is the answer. Sometimes maybe. You do need scripture in the discussions. It has the power to get to the conscience of those who will believe. Not all will. God knows who, but we can't know for sure.

It is interesting that several agnostics and atheists feel the need to contribute to threads like these. It's kind of like shoving their beliefs down other's throats. The very thing they complain about.

“But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. Therefore, my beloved brothers, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that in the Lord your labor is not in vain.”

You can't stand to be wrong. :) It would be funny if it wasn't so sad. You called me many names just for stating my beliefs. I never called you any. You really should look at all of your posts. You have to be one of the biggest offenders. I'm not pointing the theists out because you were the one complaining about name calling. You are quite often rude to those here and then you get upset when they respond poorly.

Betrayal and Hatred

Parents will turn against their children and vice versa. People will be betrayed by their closest friends. Some will die because of the animosity that will exist between what used to be close friends and relatives. It concerns the fact that the Obama Administration wants a global police force to deal with domestic terrorists. And the Obama Administration’s list of domestic terrorists includes ordinary citizens that own guns, oppose abortion, oppose same-sex marriage, oppose world government, want a balanced budget, have conservative political views, etc

It's really no more interesting than the fact that several gnostics or theists would participate in the same conversation.

How boring would the world be if people with different beliefs simply avoided discussing things with each other?

As long as it's a discussion. That's fine. I wish we could avoid the name calling and disrespectful comments. I don't remember you being that way, but some are. It's the troll like nature of some commentators that is unpleasant.

As you suggested I did look at my posts, and guess what? Your statement in bold is blatantly false, commonly knows as a flat out lie. Below is every response I have made to you as the evidence. A few have been truncated due to their length, but you can click on them to see my entire response.

I am curious, why would you make such a false statement? Lying for Jesus or what?
I still reject it, and I still have no desire to sin. Clearly indicates that the fear of a wrathful god has effected your behavior, and that sir is a false morality.

The reality is you changed yourself. Self inflicted delusion is the most accurate description. While you 'thing' (believe) god changed you, that is not the case, be it peer pressure, delusion, or fantasy, you did that all on your own, and only you can free your mind form the delusion you now suffer from.

Thanks, that helps a great deal. It reaffirms that beliefs in gods (any and all) is irrational.

After all you are 99.99% atheist, for there are many many gods you don't believe in. Thousand or so down, one to go.

No, if theists (all flavors) would keep their bias and bigotry based on their beliefs out of society, out of our civil laws, out of our schools, out of science text books, out of local, national and world politics, and stop killing in the name of their god, I would basically ignore them as harmless.
/truncated/
But thank you for engaging in a discussion vs. the constant taunts and insults that several here seem limited to in their ability to deal with other with different views, it is refreshing.

First, that is a lot of typing on a phone!

I'm very familiar with Penn Jillette, and Neil deGrasse Tyson, another with a similar perspective regarding christians. How do you think they would classify the posts from Farmhood I collected in the post prior to this one? He is not the only one as SR9 is cut from the same flawed cloth. The more christians I see like this, the more I want less and less to do with them. Unwilling or unable to articulate anything but their hate for anyone with different views.

/truncated/

Nope, that wiggling pink baby taking their first breath and protest being ejected from the womb. Sorry, but I find it sick, very sick to look at a baby and see a sinner.

Excuse me for getting it right the first time.

Define what you call "sin"

A toddler saying 'mine' is NOT by any stretch of the imagination a sin, and perhaps it is actually theirs.

/truncated/

I also can't help but note that your own explanation (vs the likely copy/paste list) there is absolutely no mention of how you one should treat their fellow man.

txfilmmaker: When you find something interesting and want to share it, please do so. One can never gain too much knowledge of the Lord. Who knows, what you post may have a specific meaning for someone, atheist or otherwise. It may be your post that triggers a much needed realization that God does exist. Of course, you will find some who are either unable, or unwilling, to read what you say but you will have, at least, put it out there for the right reason.

I don't know guys. Are you sure Christianity is the way to heaven? This account is pretty compelling. Spoiler alert. Obama is Gog and will be killed by the Messiah and buried in Israel. All this is supposed to happen in a few months from when this was recorded.

Are Jews the ones with the correct religion and the Christians are the made-up cult? Or maybe there are 2 religions that get you to heaven? Each with their own part to play? How about option #3... WW3 happens and life goes on like it's done after the other world wars.

I stand corrected. (Mistaken, but not lying.). You have called others those names and you DID say I was suffering from delusion. That's pretty rude and arrogant. You shouldn't make fun of things you don't understand or haven't experienced. You should ask Jesus about it. He would be happy to hear from you.

I won't say the experience this boy had is bogus. On the contrary, it could happen. In case you haven't been following the news of late, Russia is very active in the ME right now and seems very intent on increasing its presence there. If you will read Psalm 83, you will discover a war to come that hasn't been given much attention yet. It includes the same combatants mentioned in Ezek. 38 and 39. Obama is one of the instigators of trouble in the ME and has helped develop ISIS. Consequently, his name could have been mentioned to the boy as one of the participants since he is throwing Israel to the wolves.

There is a lot of interesting reading about Israel's take on the Messiah and His arrival. The Jews were expecting Him to arrive as a conquering king, instead He arrived as a baby, exactly as predicted in the Bible. They are still expecting Him, as are we. In reading some of the Jewish takes on Gog and Magog, one can arrive at different opinions of how things will exactly happen. This video is extremely interesting and, if the prophecy is true, ties in very well with the Bible. I have been reading everything I can find concerning this coming war. Some of the information can be confusing and requires one to do a close comparison of the books of Daniel, Ezekiel and Revelations to what has been said but is well worth while to take the time to do so.

Thanks Sancho for posting the story. Everybody can profit from reading it.

Two good sources of information also:

Modern day Gog and Magog - Israel Opinion, Ynetnews

. If you will read Psalm 83, you will discover a war to come that hasn't been given much attention yet. It includes the same combatants mentioned in Ezek. 38 and 39.

The combatants of the Psalm 83 war (to include Isaiah 17) are not the same combatants of (Ezekiel 38-39 ) Gog-Magog War.

Here are the two different coalitions:

Psalm 83 Coalition:
Tents of Edom = [decedents of Esau] Palestinian Refugees and Southern Jordanians
Ishmaelites = Saudi Arabians
Moab = Palestinian Refugees and Central Jordanians
Hagrites = Egyptians
Gebal = Northern Lebanese
Ammon = Palestinian Refugees and Northern Jordanians
Amalek = Arabs South of Israel
Philista = Palestinian Refugees and Hamas of Gaza Strip
Inhabitants of Tyre = Hezbollah and Southern Lebanese
Assyria = Syrians and perhaps Northern Iraqis included
Children of Lot = Moab and Ammon

Gog Magog Coalition:
Magog, Rosh = Russia and the former Soviet republics
Persia = Iran
Cush = Sudan, Ethiopia, and Possibly Eritrea
Put = Libya, Algeria, and Tunisa
Gomer, Meshech, and Tubal = Turkey (and possibly Germany and Austria)
Beth-togarmah = Turkey, Armenia, and the Turkish-speaking people of Asia Minor & Central Asia

The Psalm 83 war will be fought and won by the IDF. This victory will lead to the Gog-Magog War. The Gog-Magog War (Ezekiel 38-39) will not be fought by the IDF, in this war God Himself will fight the battle and annihilate all but 1/6 of the invading armies. :victory:

You shouldn't make fun of things you don't understand or haven't experienced. You should ask Jesus about it. He would be happy to hear from you.

Specifically I said your thoughts are delusional... and I stand by that, there is no other way to describe it. Speaking my opinion is not rude or arrogant, unless you choose for it to be. You are beginning to sound like the current crop of college students, claiming they are suffering from PTSD because of harsh words they have heard. I noticed you don't hesitate to express your opinions, and if I were fragile I could claim offense, but choose to counter with facts and my perspective.

There is a whole segment of the population that have the goal of finding something to be offended by every day, and most go to bed that night with the satisfaction of "mission accomplished"

And since you choose to drag others into the discussion, I noted you have failed to make any comment or chastise, or even comment on the insults only crowd that really think school yard mentality name calling only. Is this a blind eye, cause they are theists? Can you explain for them (since they can't/won't) how that validates the existence of god, or anyhow furthers the cause of christianity? I mean I have asked before and haven't received much more than more name calling. Is this a 'god works in mysterious ways' thing

I know that churches talk about members converting people and recruiting member$hip, is this one of the tactics?

So your god is obsessed with war, after all "it is written" in your bible?

Don't you think that validates my point that religion is the greatest man-made threat to mankind's future?
