Most Cops are Good?

I never said the articles were written by "cop haters". The articles were conflicting, and most likely inaccurate. And, not worth worrying about. Much like dying in a plain crash, or being killed by a terrorist. Or on the flip side, winning the lottery.

Bullcrap.... Firefighter JUST EXPLAINED to you what YOUR LINKS ACTUALLY SAID... and it wasnt anything like YOU represented them to be (TWICE NOW!!!), even though YOU USED them as an example, you are the one who UTTERLY FAILED to prove your point, in fact, what I quoted of your recent post PROVES YET AGAIN that you have no clue what you are talking about....

Dude, if you want to fight (argue) at least come armed........

I see it's past the time to change your pad.................. yet again. You need the economy size, and you won't be having these spats. Now, I suggest you and the rest of your crew get back to worrying about the cops busting through your door at 2:00 AM.

Nothing to add to the discussion besides insults ?..... Typical of you. Try fighting (arguing/discussing things) with FACTS that actually SUPPORT your side..... Insults only show your weakness....

Either way, the same applies to the "cop haters" using the articles. One article is updated with the more legitimate amount of cop killings. It's even more accurate. How does that make the "cop haters" statistics wrong?

If only I had the same chance of winning the lottery as being killed by a cop...I might actually buy a ticket instead of ammo.

You would never win, same as now. Your chances of being wrongfully killed by a cop are minuscule at best. All but practically non existent in fact. Do you know anyone personally who was killed, or injured in a wrongful police raid? How about just physically roughed up by a cop? I know people who were killed in auto and motorcycle accidents. People who drown. Even a couple who died of asphyxiation from leaving a Coleman Lantern running in a tent while they were camping. I know people who were mugged and robbed. I know people who were injured in falls. I know people who died of ALS, (odds are 1 in 1,000). But in 62 years of living I've never known anyone who was injured or killed by a cop.

.

I'm not saying or even suggesting it can't happen. It's just not worth worrying about. I get the part you don't like bad cops. No one does. But the fact of the matter is you're going to have bad people in any profession. And another thing is in most every instance where this happens, there is some type of resistance offered up by the guy who was on the receiving end of this. Including this last guy who did nothing but run away. The bottom line is if a cop, ANY COP, regardless of his attitude or temperament, is trying to arrest or seize you for any reason, your chances of not getting hurt or killed go up exponentially if you cooperate with him and do everything asked of you immediately when you're asked to do it.

.

As far as the cops flying through your door with misdirected "no knock" warrants..... It's simply not worth worrying about. There are a lot of things in this world that can kill you. Bad cops don't rank very high on the list. If they do on yours, I hope you find the time wasted worrying about it, to be worth it all.

Why, yes I do know someone personally who was running away from a bad guy when he was negligently shot by a bad cop. Police corruption...Oregon is not much better than Chicago.

I don't worry about bad cops like I don't worry about bad guys. I still plan on protecting myself against them. My money is better spent on ammunition than lottery tickets.

This portion reminds me of that Indian girl who was raped, and the rapists and their lawyer are saying she shouldn't have fought back, it was her fault for fighting.

Then there is this...

She should just cooperate for any reason...even if that reason is rape.

Waooo, just waooo. No wonder some cops feel so entitled, some of us are just advocating such nature. So egregiously thought out!

How'd that work out for Cheney, Schwerner and Goodman?

Probably the way you wanted...

Don't look for me to be the one to deprive you from worrying yourself to death over this. Be my guest. You might ask your doctor if Xanax is right for you?

I'm not "advocating" anything. Cops are going to do what they're going to do. Some will do the right thing, some the wrong thing. You behave how you see fit when a bad one stops you. You can't control his behavior, only yours. If you feel you need to, "give him a piece of your mind", then go for it. We'll all be anxiously waiting for you to report how well it all worked out for you.

Badgefluffers think that anyone that stands up for themselves and their rights hate everyone with a badge...

And you categorizing everyone that doesn't automatically hate all cops as "badgefluffers" makes your other argument weak.

I am all for rights and the rule of law. the fact that I cannot lump all cops into one category or another is just objective intelligent thought. If a cop is bad he is bad and should be punished. That does not make any other cop bad. How hard is that to understand.

You just don't want anyone to talk about it.

Similarly, Chicago cops don't care that Tony Abbate tried to stomp a barmaid to death, just that the video of it was "shown too much"...

What whodat argues (ad nauseum) is "respect" is nothing more than obedience and submission to (hopefully) avoid expensive and possibly injurious encounters with power-drunk bullies, and I'd venture to say that's nearly always true in cases where you're not speeding or weaving in and out of your lane and/or traffic or actually drawing attention to yourself in other illegal ways. Who the heck "respects" a person or their position that is in the act of subjugating them under a constant implied threat of force?

Whodat just can't say the words right.

Blues
It is at this point that I'll ask you to stop trying to translate what I say because you think everyone else on the board is too stupid to read it. Your opinion of what I say is colored by your hatred of all things cop.

With all your chest-thumping about this, please answer one simple question. If you are driving down the road sure that you are obeying all laws and a cop flips on his blue lights, are you going to stop? Please enlighten us all with your wisdom as to why or why not, and how this differs from my opinion.

In your own words, pffft
