Martin was a victim of being watched, followed, and harassed by Zimmerman. (I'd bet threatened, but I do not know it, so I'm leaving that out.) Zimmerman was the victim of a violent assault by Martin. Everyone is justified to self defense, which depending on the circumstance may include deadly force. It's unclear if Martin was exercising his right to self defense when he assaulted Zimmerman.

I know you'll dispute it because the jury found GZ not guilty... but I think the prosecutor for that case was a big fat failure like the one from OJ's case... I still think OJ did it... just that he was not found guilty. Same with GZ.

It depends. If some ******* ******* wanted to know who I was and what I was doing there I'd probably tell him to **** off. Zimmerman isn't in charge of the sidewalk is he? It's none of his business who people are and what they are doing. The only thing he should be doing is calling the cops if he thinks something is wrong. If someone is on his property, that's different. If he kept on following me and harassing me, I can't say how I would respond. It would depend in the moment if I was starting to feel threatened by him staying on me like that. If I was by myself and it was night time, I would probably start feeling threatened sooner rather than later by some dude I don't know following me and challenging me. If I had no better option than my fists, I'd probably use those if I got to the point that I thought I was in imminent danger. How about you? Some stranger comes to you and demands to know who you are and what you are doing there, do you hang your head, hat in hand, and comply?

Even in states where there's a duty to retreat the duty is gone when you retreat and another party continues to pursue. You may then stand your ground. If GZ was hassling my guests he'd get my foot in his ass! And every time I saw him around my house I'd run him home.

We must also understand that TM was an 18-year-old coming into manhood. Like all teens he's flexing his wings. He's pushing the limits. He's unsure where the line is in terms of behavior. Sure he smokes a little weed. But who cares about that? He has no real criminal past. He may however feel the need, as many young men do, to smack-down this guy who's following him. While not a smart thing to do, he's still somewhat a kid.

These are two people who unfortunately came together in the worst of circumstances and at the wrong time in their lives. And since no one saw the point at which they came together or the exact circumstances of what happened next, there could be no verdict beyond reasonable doubt. While the jury got it right I believe GZ deserves to have ruined his own life.

Tell him you plan to be the neighborhood watch captain, you have no education, no training, no license as a security guard, you will be actively patrolling and perhaps even following people, you intend to carry a gun during patrols, have no insurance and no special weapons training. Watch his answer. He'll ask you if you're nuts or just stupid.

We do know that GZ was arrested twice, once with violence, was fired from a security job for his temper, and at one point an ex girlfriend had a restraining order placed on him. We also know now that he's continuing to get in trouble over and over. Not sure what his training or education is, but his character is certainly suspect.

Perhaps not that night. But GZ was regularly patrolling the complex. That is his own statement. Personally I think he's a bug and thus a liar. His actions were part of a pattern that he admitted to. And we do know his training. He was enrolled in community college for criminal justice. He had not yet graduated. He had no formal agreement or contract with the complex as a licensed security guard. He admitted having no armed security training. He had no insurance. The guy couldn't keep his mouth shut thus he said all of these things prior to being charged. Personally? I think he's a sociopath.

If Zimmerman caused the confrontation, he would of been guilty. He was aquitted of all charges, murder and manslaughter. You're wrong.

Suspensions are worse than arrests without a conviction. Martin was caught and found guilty by the school. Zimmerman wasn't found guilty before Martin in any of his arrests.

Considering my judgement falls in line with the jury, I'll let that satisfy where each other's poor judgment falls.

Theft, violence, and drugs would be a very important concern if it were my child. I know a lot of people have done that at 18, but that is no excuse for others to follow.
