I am 100% pro-gun, am a concealed carrier, and NRA member, a conservative, and a believer in the 2nd amendment. However, you sir, are a blithering idiot, and believe it or not, I say that kindly. Your kind that spew this crap make me worry. Maybe you're one of the mentally ill that should not be allowed to own firearms. You are harming gun owners' rights just as badlly as the Bloombergs of the world are. Again, I have to assume this is directed to me because for the second time by two anti-OC posters, they don't have the balls to actually address their name-calling comments to the target of their ire.

So anyway, just an addendum to a previous post is all I have to say about the moronic rant above:

And please keep your typical Texas opinions in Texas because in most states we don't want them here. The vast majority of encounters I have while openly carrying a handgun in a holster in places like Pike Place Market in Seattle and SEATAC International are positive. At least 95% are positive. Of the negative encounters I have had, 4 out 5 of those has been people just like you who falsely claim to be "100% pro-gun, am a concealed carrier, and NRA member, a conservative, and a believer in the 2nd amendment" who can't resist the urge to tell me they carry their gun concealed and so should I.

Open carry in my neck of the woods (Seattle area) has the advantage that it will likely prevent me from ever having a need to protect myself because it is just so much easier for the criminal to walk down the street one block or wait 5 minutes for me to leave and have at their disposal a hundred more targets who aren't visibly carrying the means to kill them with. That's just old fashioned common sense.

It's amazing how all these people from states where open carry is largely illegal can claim to be experts on open carry everywhere.

This is the exact reason why I disagree with Dr. Carson's position. He agrees that what we need to do is dialogue with anti-gunners and then compromise. Sorry, these

The Constitution doesn't recognize or protect a right to FEEL safe; it protects, via the Second Amendment, the God-given right to BE safe, the God-given right to PROTECT one's self from both an out of control government, and from one's law-breaking fellow-citizen This isn't up for debate, and the SCOTUS has explicitly stated, as has been posted so many times here, that it is the responsibility of the individual citizen to provide for their own protection and security.

There is nothing to debate, only a choice to make. You can choose to rely on others to make you safe, and feel good about FEELING safe, or you can choose to actively provide for your own protection, actually BE safe, and recognize law enforcement for what it is: backup, and someone to cart off the bad guy after the dust settles.

I can't wait to see and hear what these MDA and Bloomburglar anti-gun freaks do when the SHTF whether by civil or revolutionary war, a natural disaster like Yellowstone uncorking, an asteroid hitting or just a good ole fashion chaotic clusterf***. They may be thankful to a neighbor that is armed or wish they themselves were. These anti-gun nimrods just cannot see beyond yesterday and the way things are shaping up in this country, they will likely be the sniveling idiots on their knees kissing the feet of their masters.
