Google is no longer allowing anything related to firearms to be searched on their Google Shopping. Firearms, ammo, and accessories, are all censored now. It will take full effect on July 1, 2012. What say all of you?

Google is tracking everything you do, spying without consent and selling the information

Try StartPage....they claim the most private search engine, a little less functional..like..no google maps, etc.. but worth it for the privacy.

Edit: also add Do Not Track Plus..you'll be able to monitor exactly who's tracking you. It's free.

Yahoo! Shopping - Online Shopping with great products, prices and reviews

You can still find weapons using Google search. So far, they're only censoring Google Shopping.

Google seems to have learned from China and is implementing their own censorship program.

sorry, but that's not censorship. this is the equivalence of the betty crocker cookbook not including a certain category of recipe. google is not a public entity, but a private one, and free at that! the reality of the situation is that a majority of people fail to realize that when you receive free services on the internet, the service is not the product, but rather YOU are the product.

now, if you are interested in expanding access to firearms, then i suggest that you learn a whole bunch about high-end search algorhithms and start writing code. otherwise pipe down. seems that google has simply drawn a line in the sand about what their business will entail, as is the right of any business. if they believe that this action improves shareholder value, who are you to argue?

It's already happening. I just tried to search Google Shopping for Glock G19. No listings what-so-ever. Not even any suggestions for misspellings.

Google keeps every search ever made and has done so since day one. They mine and sell info about you. I quit using google years ago. I like Ixquick. If I really want to do a google search I use StartPage. StartPage is the same company as Ixquick except they search through Google and the file records a search by StartPage not you. Neither of these two capture your address and they delete all search results every day.

I agree with Ferndale. It is googles business right to exclude what they want. By the same token, it is our right to delete google search and anything else google from our computers. I did months ago.

Very true- they sell advertising according to the number of page hits... if the hits go down, they can't charge as much to advertise and they won't make a gazillion dollars. If the firearm community would stop using it, they may change their tune. If not, we won't be supporting an anti-thinking company.

It is absolutely their right to apply any limits or parameters they want as a private entity and they should be supported in their endeavors. By the same token I have my right to to immediately cease any business or interaction with them or any of their products and would expect the same level of support.

I support the right of Google to abuse me to the extent of the First Amendment while I exercise my right to change my default Search Engine to Startpage, which I just did. Now how do I get Google off my Android and Tablet? Sheesh! They're everywhere. I truly do appreciate this thread, it has changed my view of Google, much like I changed my view of eBay...to GunBroker!

You censored the word "kiss"?

Google Product Search was the last Google search service I was using. I've been using Ixquick for months to a year.

Google can only track YOU if you allow cookies. Use mozilla block all google cookies then install from adons adblock plus, Track me not and noscript. With these installed and the blocking of the cookies they do not know where you go or who you are. plus it block the annoying ads ( also trackers ) and the google suggestion thing. That said google is ATI firearm anyway.
