Another restaurant that doesn't want our business. and it's a big chain

Hooters touts itself as a family restaurant...MOMMY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That being said I went to the one in Destin FL. and did not notice a no gun sign. Then again this is the Gunshine state!

A trucker buddy of mine was on the east coast and stopped at an all nude restaurant. He said things were fine untill the cook came out of the kitchen - he was nude too.

Wow both Hooters and BWW are "gun free"? Where will I get decent wings???

Fortunately for those few of us in CA who CCW, we can't be charged for tresspassing unless we refuse to leave an establishment after verbally told to go by owner/manager. Signs on doors don't mean squat. If we CCW correctly, they shouldn't know and no laws are broken .

We are also allowed to carry in any establishment unless their primary business is dispensing alchohol.

CA actually has some of the best carry laws once you have a permit. I think this is in part to the fact that this state is so incredibly restrictive in who they issue to, that they don't bother to make too many laws governing CCW after issuance.

In AZ, you can carry in a restaurant or bar, but you can't drink while doing so, very smart to me. and yes, I like the wings and breasts, :)

Same here in VA, good for going to the bar for lunch but useless for anything else. Since even a VERY sober person can easily fail the breathalyzer after a few, if there was a cop steaking out a bar having the gun on you could only make things worse. It's one of the very few times I won't carry or even go home to disarm.

In Washington State we can carry & drink, we just can't sit in the designated bar area. Signs hold no weight here in WA unless asked to leave.

You can also add Olive Garden to the list of anti's.

Thats weird, Here in VA there's a lot of OC dinners at Richmond area Olive Gardens. Do you know if it's supposedly a chain wide policy?

Texas is a 51% state CC is only disallowed if more than 51% of the income comes from liquor.

Most states that is the law. I live in MO. and that is the case here. However, I do know a guys that managed the Hooters in Ocala FL. and he says that well over 50% of revenue come from alcahol sales. That may be the reason for the company wide ban .. Not that I agree with it.

I learned in class so correct me if I'm wrong but in Oregon we can carry in a bar all we want. My class instructors recommended we have a designated carrier at all times though.

*edited this to add the fact that if there is a posted sign stating there are no firearms allowed then you may NOT carry in that bar and will be considered trespassing.*

Actually, it is only trespassing in Oregon if you are asked to leave and do not.

In most places, sign? what sign, I didn't see a sign. :) concealed means concealed. IF they saw it, all they can do is ask me to leave. I leave (hopefully before I give them money).

Amen. I did leave a nice post on their facebook wall...

check into it per individual state...its not the case here in Indiana. Gov. Daniels made it law that no one can limit your right to carry that conflict with state regulations. There is also nothing in Indiana state law referring to carrying and alcohol.

Not going to one place because they feel different than me on ONE issue isn't going to cut it for me. What is their stance on gay marriage? Immigration? Are they birthers? Democrats? Has any employee had sex outside of marriage? Are the pro-choice? Do they appreciate veterans? Do they take Diner's Club?

Would you go to a place that allowed firearms, but burned the US flag every hour on the hour? After all they allow firearms...

We can go on and on, and eventually you will find something in EVERY business where they disagree with you. That does not mean I will not patronize them. Remember the anti's trying to get Starbucks to ban guns and threatening to not go there unless they do? Well now this act on our side is no better.

If you are an American business hiring Americans, and have a product I want, then I will buy from you. You may not vote the way I do, you may be a different skin color or religion than I am, and you may not agree with me in many ways. BUT we all agree that this is America and one of the places in the world where we can have these huge differences, and no one gets their head chopped off because of it. Our choices are made freely without government or religious persecution. Maybe they are completely rational choices or maybe completely emotional. But we have the freedom to make them.

In WA you can't carry in a Bar where anybody under 21 is not allowed. So I open carry at my favorite restaurant all the time, I just don't go into the over 21 bar area. So here in WA carry would be legal at Hooter's. I also think that just like alcohol and driving don't mix, alcohol and guns don't mix.
