Another restaurant that doesn't want our business. and it's a big chain

Daven

"Gimpy"
I went to my monthly lunch with a friend at a restaurant we to to every month. Today there was a big picture of a 1911 and a circle and slash through it with bold letters "NO FIREARMS ALLOWED".

I told my friend (who also carries) I guess we find a new hang out. Before we did we asked for a manager. he came out (a kid about 22) and asked what our issue was. I told him although we eat here about 2 times a month, today we would be going to Applebee's. He asked why all concerned. I pointed to his offensive sign and told him 1) he can't guarantee our protection, as well as everyone else's and 2) it invites criminals to come rob them, nobody can defend themselves. He defended his policy poorly and realized I was right, but it's a franchise AND corporate policy.

Some of you may have heard of them... "HOOTER'S"

Apparently, it just became a policy nation-wide but many have had signs up for years.

Is there a place on the NRA site that we can start a petition? what's the best way to get them to re-think their position? I will surely miss their wings.

Doesn't really matter hear in Michigan, it's kind of close, but I'd consider Hooters a pistol free zone.
I still won't support a business as closed minded like that, I'll have to make a couple calls to the 2 in my area and ask if they know about the policy, and if they in force it. If they do I'll explain to them why they're going to lose my business.

I will miss the waitresses.

I go to Hooters for the breast and thighs, but will no longer frequent the place if gun free zone, criminals welcome. Do like idea of boycotting those folks who do not desire our business, no guns no business is a great idea

What most of you are neglecting to remember is that most states prohibit firearms where alcohol is sold for consumption. that means, in most states, restaurants like "hooters" and "applebees" couldn't allow people to carry firearms in their restaurant, even if they wanted too. what we as responsible armed citizens should do, is urge restaurants to join us in an effort to get our states governments to amend the laws.

In AZ, you can carry in a restaurant or bar, but you can't drink while doing so, very smart to me. and yes, I like the wings and breasts, :)

I learned in class so correct me if I'm wrong but in Oregon we can carry in a bar all we want. My class instructors recommended we have a designated carrier at all times though.

*edited this to add the fact that if there is a posted sign stating there are no firearms allowed then you may NOT carry in that bar and will be considered trespassing.*

I think Hooters is more of a BAR than a restaurant, but I'm not sure if it is 51% Beer or 51% Boob's. I'd have to stop carrying if they disallowed Boobs!

I haven't been to a Hooters in years. Their food is so bad that even a chow-dumpster like me is repulsed. They probably banned guns because too many customers were pulling their pistols in self-defense while accusing the staff of attempted murder by serving that slop.

It matters not what kind of business it is to me. If they have a no firearms sign I do not give them my money--and with a comment to the owner asking them to reconsider their policy.

Can't CC here in SC because of the liquor thing and really haven't been to one in years. Last time I went the food was over priced for the eye candy that was given BUTT most of their employees CC 38's. (Kinda funny I remember that)

"most states"? Not according to this map.

I ate at the very first hooters restaurant last night and I didn't see a sign and I looked for one because I wasn't sure. No anti signs there and the hooters headquarters is less than 200 yards from the place. Maybe the anti signs are only in certain regions of the US.

I won't go spend money with them if they violate my rights. Buffalo Wild Wings is another wing place that has a NO CARRY policy, so I haven't been there in years. If you think Hooters food is bad, try them... lol.

Wing House for me baby, no signs and lots of breasts and thighs.

You can drink and carry in Colorado, same rules apply that apply to driving don't get caught carrying while under the influence.
