My PT145 has less perceived recoil then my Witness 45, WHY...... Geometry I guess??

Physics would be more accurate I think. The Witness is bigger and heavier and the spring is probably more stout too, all of which serves to absorb more of the expended energy. At least that would be my best guess. I'm not a physicist by any stretch of the imagination!

Very True Blues, My geometry theory was based on the much higher grip I can obtain on the PT145, My Witness is a polymer gun, The slide is about 3/4 longer and about a 1/4 wider, The handle is the same size as the PT145 but the PT can hold 10 rounds? Still blows my mind. Any-Who I love them both and don't mind the Heini sights on the PT. I have many more hours with the Witness and have no problems concealing and carrying it all day, But the PT is just a marvel to me icomparisonon. I've only got about 100 rounds through it, But that will change here this coming week

I'm surprised this thread isn't 10 times longer. I believe that if the shot is there and the shooter has the ability, then caliber doesn't matter. You can take out a threat with a rock and a sling.

My choice of caliber is 9mm. For me, it's the best compromise for my physical limitations (still surprised at that one since yesterday I was just a kid and could get right back into it no matter what), stopping power, and capacity.

I also stagger the load of my magazines. 1st round in the chamber is a 147 grain Winchester PDX1 for barrier penetration, then a Hornady 124 grain TAP FPD for better ballistic coefficient. When I can get my hands on the new Hornady Critical Duty 135 grain I will eliminate the PDX1. It's expensive but half my practice time is with these rounds and the other half is with Federal Champion 115 grain FMJ RN to ease the burden on my wallet. It's screws with the muscle memory initially, but practice always solves that problem and I enjoy practicing!

I have to go with the 10mm, then a 9mm. Switch between a S&W 1006 and a 3913 Ladysmith depending on clothing. Planning on snagging a S&W 4006 as soon as possible to make my primary but even then I'm gonna have to say I prefer the 10mm. The 40S&W is very effective and a little easier to conceal but I still like the power advantage of the 10mm, especially when the BG is wearing a lot of heavy clothing.

Iwb ruger lcr 357 no snaggin on draw, no safety, pull trigger, done deal, side note ,gun never leaves holster unless cleaning or at the range. When im yawning im packin already with my coffee till bed, locked in mini gun vault with new batteries every 6 months.
Semper Fidelis!

My Ruger LCP 380 in my front pocket of my jeans or cargo pants with a pocket holster is just like having nothing there. And it easy to draw, plus in tough areas you can have your hand in your pocket.

sort of tough to gauge which is the most popular. Because the price of ammunition must be calculated, type of fire arm, action of fire arm and what time frame it is . Maybe 50 years ago it would be the 45 colt and .38spl , nowadays it might be the .380 and 9mm due to cost and capacity.

As for me... I enjoy the lighter side of life. My choice for carry is my 9mm or 380. I love my 45 but its a bit bulky and noticeable..380 fits like a charm in my back pocket and my 9mm fits comfortably tucked in my waist.

My EDC is a Taurus PT111 Mil. Pro 2nd Gen. 9mm and a Kel-Tec P3AT 2nd Gen. in 380 with extra mags.

most popular CCW

I prefer the Springfield XD40 Service model. If you are looking for a smaller frame, the sub compact XD or even smaller i like the Kimber Solo

I have been carrying a Kel-Tec PF9 and really like it. I forget it is there most of the time. I just purchased a Rossi 357 but haven't got a iwb hoster for it yet.
