So yesterday Im in Academy Sports back by the guns when I hear them call for an escort to walk a gun to the front. Normaly this would mean a person had just purchased a new toy, but, this was not the case! I was in the area for a good length of time and heard one of the sales associates give his opinion on holsters when I hear the customer say he had no Idea that you were supposed to check your gun at the door. Now I dont know if my fellow ccw holder(assumption) came up to the holster area and started checking the fit of his iron...which would have been a breech of protocol...or if he walked up and started the conversation with the associate. I do know that I once again looked for some sort of posting as I walked out with my newly purchased zombie-defense ammo and saw no signage of any kind about checking my gun. Does anyone know what Academy's policy is? I bought my Glock there and it would be a shame if I had to boycott them based on a silly check your gun at the door policy!
