In an earlier thread, someone posted that, instead of using the (very difficult to use) safety, he "decocks" the gun by holding on to the cocking piece while pulling the trigger and gently allowing the cocking piece down.
This is very unsafe. This allows the firing pin, under spring pressure, to rest against the primer of the chambered round. Any jarring or movement of the gun can cause it to fire. This is less safe than not using the safety at all.
