Smith &Wesson does it right, SD40 VE

Just have to say, Smith & Wesson did it right! Brought home my SD40 VE yesterday and was impressed immediately! It had a ton of preservative on it right out the box, but cleaned up well and took down easily enough. The trigger pull has some creep, but overall, for my big hands, it's pretty good. The stainless steel slide is a plus as well, no finish to worry about.

I've only fired 13 rounds from it, but it seems to have passed the test. As ammo prices drop, I'll test it out some more.

the price of the gun +2 mags was $319.99 + $13 background check, tax came to a total of $351.50.

I found one drawback, the plaatic guide rod. Since it's pretty similar to a Glock 23, I bet the parts may be somewhat compatible.

There not. There's no reason to change it. If Smith thought the gun would be better off with a metal one, they would have mfg'd them that way.
