Push them for a simple answer on a straight forward question and they will attack you personally and attempt to put the burden of research on you. It is one of the tactics that people resort to defending their baseless fantasies. And keep in mind that these are supposed to be adults making their way in the world, not children arguing during recess.

Well that is your twist on their words, when in fact all they are doing is asking bigots like you is to STFU and stop meddling in the lives of people you don't even know and have never caused you any harm at all.

But to some extent you are correct, because of the ignorance in their days, many many things caused great amounts of irrational fear, that would be laughed today, like where did the sun go every night? What if it doesn't return? Let's make an idol to what ever controls the sun, and worship it as to not displease it and leave us in dark. Deities were born in this ignorance as they did not yet have the knowledge to dispel the fear of the unknown.

Today you know where the sun goes at night, yet you cling to the fear born in a time of ignorance, which is inexcusable today.
 
XD: If you are content to believe all the BS you put out, have at it. We have been at this for some time now and neither of us will change. And, no, you are not to simply take my word for anything. You seem to be an intelligent person who should have the ability to research subjects for yourself. Once you have done your research, determine for yourself what you want to believe. That is exactly what I do and I have not found anyone on here that is able to convince me that God does not exist. There is no scientific theory that can prove it, only what the so called learned gentlemen/women have conjured up in their own minds. If you are sure of your beliefs, what I believe shouldn't bother you at all. But, as I have said before, I do not believe that there is an atheist anywhere who doesn't have that little thought in the back of their mind that God does actually exist. I believe atheists would rather die and go to hell, that hell they don't believe in, rather than admit they have been wrong. But, that is my take on the subject. Have fun with yours.

What a sanctimonious scumbag! The way you talk about Christians -- man, you have a lot of nerve. All we can do is hope you don't have your hand on the lever to let the lions out. You'd probably sell tickets and popcorn. Calling me a bigot, when your main purpose here is to persecute Christians? Pot, meet kettle.

OK, just what I said are your calling BS, and please provide evidence or rational reason to justify your position. And NO, your bible is not proof of anything, nor even relevant because fear and a way to dismiss fear predates your religion by 100's of thousands of years.

Man sat in dark caves for 10's of thousands of years not knowing where the sun had gone.... and are you saying that would not create a fear in their minds as the listen to the predators of the night?

There is no scientific proof of the absence of unicorns, leprechauns, winged horses, fairy's, fire breathing dragons, either..... your point?

Dying is inevitable, hell is a figment of your imagination. You just can't get your head around the fact that atheists are not captive to the fear of make believe... It is not about being 'right', it is just the reality of our life on this rock. If you were capable of proving god, then trot out and we'll take a look, but it is not found in your book written when ignorance of our physical world was so complete.

I base my characterization of christians, based on their actions and words.... You base your views of others based on their gender, skin color, or whom they love and you don't see yourself as a bigot. That's rich.... and sick..

Like I said earilier, if you don't want athiests jumping in on your "christian" conversations, post them where we don't go. There are plenty of websites where every response to the drivel will be "Amen". That is fine. You post it here, you're going to hear from us. Plain and simple.

Yes, dying is inevitable but you should hope that hell is only in our imagination. We have all been given the opportunity to forego that punishment but you seemingly reject it at every turn. Your intellect (?) will not let you accept the fact of God's existence. Will it also protect you if you wind up in hell? We have been around this track many times before so there is no necessity to do it again.

I didn't say you posted anything that does not reflect your christian views, your christian views are the source of the bigotry.

Your bible tells teaches you bias, bigotry, hate or whatever you want to call it against other that have no control over their gender, skin color, or whom they happen to love.
