Should citizens in the United States be banned from possessing assault weapons?

Got a question guys n girls. Earlier this month I attempted to purchase a long gun at a Chattanooga dealership only to be denied by the TBI's new system. I filled out the appeals form and faxed it to the TBI along with the disposition form from the arresting department in Georgia with it stating not guilty due to self defense. This charge/case is almost 18 yrs old and has never come up before. I contacted the court in Georgia and was told "our system has been down 4 months and our IT department has yet to fix it". For some reason the charge is showing up but not the disposition.

Any advice on how I should proceed in this case?

Two words NRA and a good Attorney

This is what most courts are looking for is legal representation to show you are as serious as a heart attack

The NRA has been known to look into cases like this as winning to them is another feather in their cap, and possibly a rifle in your hands.

Actually there is a third word move to the Friendly Gun State in the Union, Arizona where we live by the US Constitution and the Bill of Rights and the only thing you cannot possess is Nunchucks only because IMHO you could really do some damage by hurting yourself.

People forget Vermont because Vermont's lack of a permit system makes it unqualified to enjoy all the benefits of the Reciprocity Law that was being salivated over earlier this year. It's the one state that exposes the fatal flaw of that law, when the most constitutional carry law in the nation forces US citizens under its jurisdiction to maintain the least 2nd Amendment rights when traveling out of that jurisdiction. So many people are so hungry for some semblance of a "win" against the burgeoning tyranny, that they are willing to impose it on Vermont so that they can travel more freely than before.

That's why.

Never forget Vermont or Alaska as Arizona was number 3 after the Great State of Vermont

I admit that I'm not having a good night.
I do not understand your reply. Vermont allows anyone to carry here. From any other state.

Ahh....Sorry, that wasn't my point. The federal reciprocity law that was proposed either late last year or early this year, would've made reciprocity mandatory by all states that had a permit system in place. Since Vermont, the most constitutionally-compliant state, doesn't have a permit system, you and your fellow Vermonters would not be allowed to carry in other states where a permit is required under that proposed law, meaning that a lesser degree of constitutional adherence in those states would deny your citizens all of their carry rights when you travel out of Vermont. I wasn't talking about people from outside of Vermont coming into your state, I meant the other way around.

By and large, maybe even unanimously, people around here were more than willing to sacrifice your travel/carry rights so that they could travel and carry with less restrictions. Most of them would would say something like, "Well, if Vermont wants the same privilege, all they have to do is institute a permit system." When the selfishness and affront to the Constitution was pointed out to them, they "forgot" about Vermont is what I was saying.
