~The Dude Abides~
Armed with a very realistic looking plastic replica handgun, a foolish 34-year-old man on Friday attempted to rob a bank in Trimble, Mo., according to police. Unfortunately for the robber, one of the bank’s employees (a CHL holder) was able to retrieve a very real Smith and Wesson .357 revolver and shoot the suspect in the face, effectively ending the robbery attempt.

Looks like he took a toy to a gunfight. Bad choice, in my opinion. Mighty good first shot, too. But then I wondered where the other shot went...
Good story, thanks for posting...

Waiting for the other shoe to drop.....

Will the armed employee be fired? That seems to the be the pattern.

On another issue here, many of the articles on this robber identify the employee as an "armed civilian". Guess, what, cops are armed civilians as well. Yes, there are many dictionary citations that now include LE, firefighters and EMS as "non-civilian" personnel. I need to find some pre-libtard era dictionaries and see when that change came about. DoD makes a distinction about policy relating to "civilian law enforcement agencies."

Brought a toy to a holdup and got a .357 round in the face for his trouble. Bet that smarted! Bet it leaves a big mark too! Sometimes things go right in the world. Between this and the punk in Oregon who managed to get himself shot while on a robbery spree, I'm enjoying my coffee right now!
.
That employee should get a raise and a big bonus this Christmas.

Sounds to me like the BG had a death wish going into a bank with a toy gun. He was stopped and no one was injured except for the BG ofcourse. You threaten me, toy or not and I am going to do my very best to FYU!!!!Got what he deserved and quite honestly I think it is what he expected. If more of this was on the national news people or the anti's might open there eyes a little.....

Actually, I think the BG went into the bank with a toy gun cause he felt no one in there would be armed.

One of the better reasons to allow CCW into banks, schools, etc. As long as the CCW holder has passed background checks, and holds a CCW license/permit, go for it. They aren't gonna shoot anybody, and the BG will think twice before he enters.

You can ban everything, but you cannot ban evil.

The attached quotes from the article to me are the most important; "The worker who fired the shots is not expected to face charges. He is reportedly a legal concealed carry permit holder."

“Anybody that does any kind of crime, breaks into houses or goes and robs anybody they basically they’re taking their own life on the line,” said Chief Larry Fish, Trimble Police Chief.

So often today the wrong person is held accountable for action that should be considered honorable. Coming to the aid of a fellow human being in their time of need is necessary for a society to survive in these troubling times.

How in the world are these idiots taking a round to the face and not dying? I understand that it could be a graze or a cheek shot or something like that but when you hear of a victim being shot in the face, more often than not, they die. The woman with twin boys shot dude in the face and neck 5 times and he lived to run?

My luck, I'll get struck by a stray BB some kids are playing with and I'll die after 7 agonizing days in critical condition and no pain medication will work.

Who wants to bet: This will be spun by lame-stream media as an unarmed man being shot by a meanie with a gun who could have fired a (illegal) warning shot first? Oh. And the shooter REALLY wanted him EXTRA dead because it was a head shot.

Or he should have shot the gun out of his hand! :haha:
