XD: You are right. These things have happened and there have been counter-actions by the opposing sides. We can't help what others do in the name of Christianity and I would question their true feelings. There are many of us who, not approving of the actions of others, do not take action in the form of the "militant" few who do. I do not, nor have I ever, been outwardly hostile to gays. I disagree with their persuasion and am content to leave them to themselves. I do object to the changing of our laws solely to accommodate a deviant few and the forcing of people to violate their religious tenets. We have gone over this many, many times to no avail. You can not be changed in your beliefs and we will not be changed in ours. The problem is (on here at least) there is constant and deliberate antagonism towards Christians by atheists and especially in your cursing of God which has incendiary effects on all people of God. You are unable to stop your deliberate and incessant haranguing and let those who are of a same mind about a subject enjoy their repartee. That is why I said you seem to be going off the deep end. You are entitled to your opinion on any subject you care to mention, as do we. We do not feel the necessity to be insulting (different upbringing?) but we also have our faults and do respond in kind to some of your infuriating diatribe. That is our failing and, the longer we continue in disagreements with you, the closer we are to being as sinful and judgmental as you.
In II Timothy 2:23-24, we are admonished to not enter into these quarrelsome situations:
"But avoid foolish and ignorant disputes, knowing that they generate strife. And a servant of the Lord must not quarrel but be gentle to all, able to teach, patient."
Consequently XD, I see no further need to enter into any discussions with you about religion. Your mind is incapable of entertaining the thoughts of God actually existing and, by continuing, we are causing problems for ourselves. I can only truthfully say that I wish you well.

You quoted me, and then reposted the same jumble of lies and insults that you have numerous times before. That block of hateful text that you posted is not pertinent to the discussion at hand and simply does not address the issue.
Your continued lies and insults do nothing to further the conversation, and only aid to increase the hate that you claim to be against.
If you really want this conversation to go somewhere you need to try to listen to what you're being told. I am an atheist. I do not believe that your god doesn't exist, I don't hate your god, I have no hate for you or your beliefs. Until you can face those facts you're going to keep looking silly.

I am an atheist. You have accused me of holding a specific belief concerning the existence of a god. I do not, in fact, hold that belief. I do not believe that your god exists, I also do not believe that it doesn't exist. Those are two beliefs that I do not hold.
Your position is based in a false dichotomy, that a person MUST hold one of those beliefs or the other. However, the reality of the situation is that those are not the only two options. It is possible for one (such as myself) to not hold either one of those beliefs.

Several years ago NC and a ballot issue to change the state constitution to define marriage as between a man and a woman. 61% of the people that voted, voted to express their hate from the safety of the secret ballot, but it is still christians forcing their hateful views on others.
