Best use of the tool that is available to us.

SO much of what is written about in internet forums is of the lowest common denominator. This is not a criticism, but a challange to always put your best thoughts forward. I find this forum interesting and thoughtful, so without focusing on the weakness of intolerance of divergent opinions, let us pursue the highest level of intent to better ourselves by the content we display! Any way, I was reading my latest Guns and Ammo and found an article about the ammo shortage. This demonstrates that although we all hate it, we have created a situation where the manufacturers are increasing capacity by investing in new equipment and additional facilities. One of the main points which summarizes the problem is Ruger's admission that it sold 1 million this last year. The first of an American manufacturer. New people need training rounds and weapons for personal protection seems to be going mainstream as was mentioned in the article.

New and just looking to get started, looks like CA is exporting convicts ...so things are changing. contest looks enticing to me..if I were ever so lucky. Things seem to be changing in PA as well.

The first one got to big and was hanging up the database when I was trying to do some maintenance. I deleted it and started this new one. Post here for new welcomes. Please don't start new threads.

Greetings to ALL!
I just signed up a few days ago, & I'm still attempting to do this correctly! This is a pretty awesome site👍👍👍 with a plethora of info for the average, above average & me...(the below average bears!) thank you "Lukem" for your help the other day, although, I don't think it worked because I still couldn't figure out how to reply to the thread! Any...ways, I hail from KY. (For those in Rio Linda...that's Kentucky! LOL)
I'm just glad to finally be here with some like minded Brothers (& Sisters) whom care enough about our Country that's going to s***! I do know one thing though...We gotta wake some people up! But I digress...
Glad to be here, thank you ALL!

I just joined the discussion although I've been collecting USA Carry emails in a folder for nearly a year. I'm a Senior Citizen and now live in the middle of North Georgia. I want to educate myself but I don't want it to cost me a lot of money as I live on a set Retirement Income. I have a laser sight which I recommend for every 'older' shooter. And yes, if you didn't guess, I'm a female.

The reason I'm here? I just deleted my Facebook account because it was interfering with my Retirement Bucket List. One of the items on that list is to learn to shoot my pistol correctly. And learn the Georgia Gun Laws. And to learn how to clean my gun.

Thanks for having me.

Hello everyone, I just joined, been receiving emails for a while now and decided it was time to join the site. There is a lot of really good information on this site and it seems a lot of good people as well. I don't do much of anything online very often, but I'll be dropping by as time permits.

Keep up the GREAT work, Love this site!

Hi Coosa,

My sister-in-law and her husband live in Kathleen. I'm not sure where that relates to your location, but if you're close to them, they might be able to help you, "to learn to shoot my pistol correctly. And learn the Georgia Gun Laws. And to learn how to clean my gun." as you stated. Let me know if you're interested in meeting them. I don't get on this site as much as I want, but I'm attempting to change that. You can send me a private message (PM) rather than posting here.

To all members,

I don't recall if I posted in the first "Introduction" thread or not, so I thought I'd introduce myself (again?).

My name is Craig and I live in Idaho with my wife and two daughters. You can see some information in my signature, too. We enjoy camping, fishing, hunting, photography, and shooting, among other things. I am currently attending Boise State University as a Pre-Radiologic Sciences major. I was laid-off by the State of Idaho after nearly 17 years of State service. I qualified for VA Vocational Rehabilitation and since I've always been interested in the medical field and photography. It's time to attempt a career change and combining the two interests seemed like a good idea. Today is the last day of my Summer semester. Once I complete my final exam today, I'm done until the Fall semester starts in about three weeks.

I hope to be more active on the site in the future.

There is a website that gives you gun laws for every state and for cleaning just follow the instructions in your owner booklet that came with it. For the shooting part go to the nearest range and practice. If you have your own ammo it will be much cheaper.

FYI just made a group for the folks from NC, please check it out and feel free to post. We have had the same guy break into our home 3, yes 3 times. Well the last time was an 'attempted' break in at 4 am with my oldest girl (age 18) home alone. I would like to hear what others think about this. We are to the point that we are going to have to move or something real bad is going to happen. :cray:

I'm one of those people who had a head injury and don't learn easily from books any longer --- reading sometimes becomes letters on a page with little comprehension since the concussion --- I have trouble visualizing --- I need to be shown and have it explained to me. Usually more than once.

I found the laws at Link Removed and even in their 'Plain English' I am finding it hard to concentrate on the words.

But THAT is me and my problem. I have some ammo but I am trying to hold onto it.

Wish I lived closer. I'm in Fannin County and Kathleen is 3 1/2 hours away -- on a good day. When I mentioned "North Georgia" I really meant North North Georgia, a few miles from the North Carolina line.

That's one of the problems, there is no nearby range ... they're hours away ... There is a gun club less than an hour away, but it is open mainly for "matches" or for classes to learn how to shoot in the matches, with few classes for women. It doesn't appear to be open unless the Range Officer is available to be there from what I gather on the website.

I will call them after I try to understand the GA Carry Rules and get my license so I can transport my handgun legally.

Greetings to all y'all "Newbies" from Louisville, Kentucky...This is an amazing site that I've been getting emails from myself & have just started getting in on the action too! It's nice to have found a "decent" site for a change! Welcome aboard EVERYONE!

Hello from another newbie - living in what is affectionately referred to as the "free state" - (not)- Maryland. Really never paid a lot of attention to the whole gun issue - until it was decided by the powers that be; they want to take away that right. Now I am very interested - and plan to do some serious lurking as I learn more. I know that Maryland is very reluctant to let anyone have a concealed carry - they prefer to have us defenseless and dependent. I plan to change that for my own circumstances. :)
