I have a Glock 19 (gen4) and love it. I can shoot very tight groups with it. The 26 is also
an excellent gun if you want something a little smaller. BTW Rob Pincus shoots Glocks and recently
wrote that he is switching back to 9mm from 40cal. You can google it and find out his reasons.

Hello from Oregon!

I'm a federal police officer, with a background of providing security for the U.S. Army. I'm a part-time firearms instructor, and I'm starting to make my own kydex and leather holsters. I'm also trying to develop an open-source and open-hardware firearm simulator for law enforcement, and private citizens.

I'm wanting feedback from the shooting community, and hoping to have some questions answered.

I already know that this is a good community by the fast support given by Mr. McCoy.

Take care, and stay safe!

Just found the site today. I've been doing a lot of thinking about CC lately, though working at a university with a pretty strict "no firearms" policy has kept me from carrying so far. So in the interim I'm learning as much as I can about the subject...

Hello from the Upstate of South Carolina.

Hi, I'm a life long sport shooter, hunter and gun collector. Grew up in the midwest farm country and never considered the need for self protection until the past few years. Now, I'm a husband and father and carry whenever/wherever possible. This looks like a great site and I look forward to learning more about my relatively new hobby of every day carry.

Long time lurker and finally decided to join and contribute. One of the few who "legally" CCW in So Cal. Hope to keep learning and sharing with the community.

Hello all . . . I'm new and just wanted to say hello. Looking forward to chatting with many of you in the future. I'm a retired law enforcement officer after over a quarter of a century in service. I have full California retired law enforcement officer CCW carry rights on my retired pictured ID from department, however I'm finding that if traveling back east especially to New York City I'm not wanted with my weapon. Very sad. I'll have to pass up on my city of birth in that case. Have any of you found a way around this?

You might want to contact the Board of IALEFI, and ask there. Welcome.

As far as I know you are welcome here in Florida!

I just would like to say hi to all the new people that have joined this group. God Bless our Troop's and Our Second Amendment.

Dark Cobra,

My first CCW was in NY State. Even with a valid NY State CCW I could not carry in NYC! NYC requires a CCW issued by and for NYC. That's it, they have no grace or humor about it that I know of.

Sorry Man, after a life of service you should get a bit more respect and consideration from your birthplace.

Thank you "Pastor Tom". It truly is sad what is going on with N.Y.C. They don't even want other law enforcement officers in their town carrying. I look at it this way, they're getting exactly what they deserve as a result! I read with amusement lately how their Mayor now wants even stronger gun laws. Oh really now?

He's already got the Sullivan Laws that for all practical purposes denies EVERYONE a firearm for pretty much ANY reason. How do you get tougher than 'No one can have a gun for any reason . . . ever'? What he doesn't realize is they blundered badly when they so brutally disarmed the honest law abiding citizens and told all other law enforcement to stay out! The criminals are running more amok now than ever before. So be it N.Y.C. . . . good luck with your crime rate LOL!

Greetings from Basel, Swiss dear members. My name is Ellen, and I am a gun nut. I look forward in coming back to the states, and that is the reason I signed up here, to find out where to land when I get back.

Here in the states, many of the more educated have heard stories all of our lives of the brave Swiss Citizens and their independence through Power. The Swiss are always welcome in a Freedom loving society. New Mexico USA loves Freedom. We pressure our politicos endlessly to ensure our Rights. We have mountains and also are only hours away from 'The Switzerland of America'. Ouray Colorado. :>) You are always Welcome to the 'Freedom' States Ellen.
