What to buy?
Most so called experienced people will tell you a 22 cliber (low kick) is the way to go. I wanted and bought a GLOCK 23 and still love it, but, soon after bought a 22 pistol followed by another 22 pistol. Sharing was not the way to go, so came the second 22 pistol. Cost for ammo and recoil are the biggies. My Glock costs 25 cents a round to fire. My 22 caliber pistols fire the cheapest round going. Abox of 550 rounds cost me under 20 dollars at Wal-Mart. I am getting a conversion from the 40 caliber to a 9mm for the Glock. It will pay for it self as the cost of both at Wal-Mart is $28.95 for 100 rounds of 40 or 150 rounds of 9mm. Plus the 9mm has less of a kick. My wife doesn't care to shoot the 40 caliber because of the kick. After the holidays I plan on getting a Henry 22 caliber lever action rifle, if Santa doesn't surprize me with one first !! The cost to convert from 40 to 9mm for my Glock is $129.00 which is a barrel and a ten round magazine. Just a little 'food for thought'. One thing more, a lot of indoor ranges offer rentals, call around. I belong to an outside range and if you called we could probably have you trying our guns for no cost. Look up on the internet for "First Shots" it's a free gun safty 3 hour course and you shoot a 22 also. There is also a 'Appleseed' course too you could go to, Good luck!

New from Massachusetts, bought me Glock 23 for my first pistol and then a 22 pistol then got tired of taking turns at the range and bought us another 22 pistol. After the holidays I hope to get a Henry lever action 22 also. Retired and loving it!
