I'm not sure yet where I stand but I disagree a little with what you said. It is very difficult to get things repealed once they pass in this country so the likelyhood of this passing and then getting repealed to a vague something that would be "much worse off than we are today" type of scenaio is very very unlikely.
I definitely don't want the fed bigger and they are far to big and useless as it stands. HOWEVER, and its a big one, our constitutional right to carry should not vary from state to state. Our rights are nationwide and we should not let each state have any control over our basic rights as US citizens. We wouldn't want states taking liberties with our freedom of speech, religious expression etc.
As responsible gun owners we should be attempting to expand our right to carry to fit with our constitutional rights. If we can expand and improve state laws with regards to carry then great. if we can expand our rights to carry at the federal level even better.
Thanks,
Mspt
Well, if you have a constitutional right to carry then you don't need a federal law. Which is it? does the 2A give you the right to carry in every state, or do you need a federal law to afford you that right?
