I'm betting the charges will be dropped on her, alot quicker and easier than they ever would on you or I.
And, I'm betting she will get her gun back, and I wouldn't bet that if one of us ever did it.

Also the headlines are misleading - she is not a senior official in DHS, she is senior in Nevada - Emergency Operations Center stuff. i work with these types all the time down in Louisiana. Good folk, maybe some prestige as they report directly to the Governor of the State, but barely make 6 figures after a life of working their asses off. And according to her LinkedIn page, is a member of the republican national committee.

you are right. NM. i was thinking faster than i was typing. My point, however, is still valid... baseless assumptions and accusations make you look like a retard no matter what your political affiliation. And, if NMs Emergency Op Center is anything like Louisiana's, she has a hell of a demanding job, probably loves it, has no feeling of entitlement, and makes enough money to be happy, but not rich.

I could be wrong...

Our agency reported to the governor's office, the USACE, DOI, FEMA,and counties. Our agency was represented in the Florida EOC which has the same sort of setup as NM's has. Florida Division of Emergency Management - FloridaDisaster.org No I wouldn't want her job just knowing what our little chunk involved. You can get so busy that you just forget things. It's part of being human.
 
State EOC's when put together and the switch turned on, is daunting. worked in one many times. can't imagine being in charge of one. hard enough to keep track of my little piece of the 100+ agency puzzle.

I'm with you. If she's a federal agent why would it even be an issue. Federal agents used to be able to fly with their weapons, has that changed?
