Lady with a gun!

Story from a Kansas State
Highway Patrol officer :

I made a traffic stop on an elderly lady the other day for speeding

on U.S. 166 Eastbound at Mile Marker 73 just East of Sedan, KS.

I asked for her driver's license, registration, and proof of insurance.

The lady took out the required information and handed it to me.

In with the cards I was somewhat surprised (due to her advanced age)

to see she had a conceal carry permit. I looked at her and ask if

she had a weapon in her possession at this time.

She responded that she indeed had a .45 automatic in her glove box.

Something---body language, or the way she said it---made me want

to ask if she had any other firearms. She did admit to also having

a 9mm Glock in her center console. Now I had to ask one more

time if that was all. She responded once again that she did have

just one more, a .38 special in her purse. I then asked her what

was she so afraid of.

She looked me right in the eye and said, "Not a ******* thing!"

This is a email that has been passed around in a couple different versions the past year our so. Still funny though

Past year or so? I probably first heard this in the early '90s. And, yeah, many different variations. From the old lady with many different pistols concealed to the "redneck" with ten rifles on a gun rack on his pickup.

Once the officer saw the carry permit, why did he feel the need to ask if she had weapons? Once he finds out that any weapons that she did have would be legal with the permit, what is the point in asking?

LT there is a thing called humor in the civilian world, I absolutely am indebted to you for your service.... HOWEVER, It was posted purely for entertainment....I didn't expect it would be scrutenized. Sometimes things should just be taken LITELY. It was , not meant as a how to lesson on traffic stops....Lighten up francis!

Maybe it would be more entertaining in the LEO Encounters section, since it was regarding an encounter with LEO? Who is Francis?

You being military, I thought you would know Sgt Hulka...NO?
If it is bothering you please have Luke move the post, I don't want to disrupt your sense of order..
