Is our world in chaos?

So god's temper tantrum where he directly caused the death of 99.9999% of all life on the planet, as documented in the bible, was a fluke or what?

Makes me wonder if you have read your bible.......

No, God is not a murderer.

Besides, if you don't believe in the Bible, then what do the biblical accounts of events matter to you?

Yesterday's Prophecies - Today's Headlines

Vulnerability is becoming more commonplace in our lives with each passing day. The looming recession, the strange microbes and viruses we're hearing about on the news, the mad dictators testing their hydrogen bombs and long-range missiles, the constant terrorist threats, the specter of war in the Middle East, and politics, and more politics! All the signs of the last days are converging at the same time. Bible Prophecy is happening right before our eyes and like birth pains, the predicted events are happening more frequently and more intently. With so many end times Bible prophecies on the brink of fulfillment, the events that are occurring now on a daily basis can only lead us to conclude that the end of this age approaches rapidly.

So your are saying the 2 million+ murders attributed to gods actions in the bible, are not in the bible, or that willfully causing the death of others is not murder?

I recognize that the bible is real, what it is NOT is the word of god, but merely the works of many men from a time when man didn't even understand where the sun went at night.

How can you be sure? Besides, the Bible affirms the orbit of the earth around the sun. Most of what you say is regurgitated propaganda from skeptics. I didn't believe the Bible before God opened my eyes and put His Spirit in me, either. Just because you've never experienced something, doesn't validate your disbelief. You hang out here so much. I hope it's because (deep down inside) you want to have something to believe in. As it stands, you are as we were, Without hope.

Ephesians 2:1-10, 12-13 And you were dead in the trespasses and sins in which you once walked, following the course of this world, following the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that is now at work in the sons of disobedience— among whom we all once lived in the passions of our flesh, carrying out the desires of the body and the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved— and raised us up with him and seated us with him in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, so that in the coming ages he might show the immeasurable riches of his grace in kindness toward us in Christ Jesus. For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works, so that no one may boast. For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

remember that you were at that time separated from Christ, alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world. But now in Christ Jesus you who once were far off have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

When Madmen Speak

The Twentieth century is full of examples of leaders who were ignored until it was too late. The same can be said for the threats and promises made by men like Lenin, Stalin, Nicolai Ceausescu in Romania, Vietnams Ho Chi Minh, Pol Pot, Saddam Hussein, China’s Mao Zedong…the list could literally go on and on. Each man was clear beforehand about what he intended to do; each man went on to cause unparalleled suffering and chaos—just as they each said they would. Kim Jong-un has been doing a lot of talking lately. History tells us that when madmen speak, we should listen. Perhaps we should all be paying closer attention to what he is saying.

XD: This is a rather lengthy read but it really does contradict your statement about the Bible NOT being the word of God. Why is the Bible, and Not Other Religious Books, the Word of God? | CBN.com (beta).

Biblical prophecies are batting 1000. No other religious group or religious writings can make the same claim.

From the 700 Club and Pat Robertson.... you don't think they have an agenda do ya? I give more street creds to the bible than these hucksters. But god had zero input, it is the work of mere mortal men, though likely the more intellectual (duh, they could read and write) when illiteracy was the norm.

And there are many failed prophecies if your inerrant book, which also demonstrates what you think is inerrant, ain't.

Sure, they have an agenda, just as the Wikipedia writer had when he wrote your referenced article and gave the "statistics" at the end. Whether you give credence to CBN or not, their article was good and validates what we have all been saying about the Bible being the inerrant Word of God. No matter how you try, you will never be able to invalidate it with your charts.

Your arguments are not new and the Bible has been challenged by the most determined critics. The simple reason it stands alone is because it was not written solely by men, but inspired by God, Himself. Read 2 Peter 1:20-21, "Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost."

The Bible has passed the test of time. Many learned men have tried to refute it and failed miserably. I am quite certain that neither you nor any other man, no matter how wise you consider yourself to be, will ever be able to prove otherwise. On the contrary, one millisecond after your death, you will have your answer when you meet Jesus, face to face. I know you believe that everything ceases when you die but old son, you are definitely in for a surprise. I only hope that between then and now, you do come to realize your need for Him.

I didn't say the deaths weren't in the Bible. I'm saying that God did not and does not commit murder.

Willfully causing the death of others is not always murder. Examples: war, execution of convicted felon under death penalty, self defense, defending others.

I recognize that the bible is real, what it is NOT is the word of god, but merely the works of many men from a time when man didn't even understand where the sun went at night.
Yet, you take the word of all these authors about deaths in the Bible?

WARNING: Mockers in the Last Days

America’s Future

The nation is NOW very hardened in the Ordinances of the Amorites with no sign of turning back to the Holy God of Israel. Most of the church has lost the fear of God and thus cannot see the judgment coming. The key now is to watch the growth of mockers. Atheists were a very small percentage of the population, but in the last 10 years the percentage has shot up to over 20 percent. As they grow in numbers, they also grow in power which energizes their mocking. At the speed America is free-falling spiritually, in a very short time the mocking will be at the level of the final judgment. It is very sad to watch America die like this, But, when a nation turns from God to the Ordinances of Amorites, judgment awaits and there is no remedy.

So you are saying those are NOT in the bible? fascinating. If the tall tale about Noah and the big boat ain't in the bible, what is the title containing this description of the deliberate annihilation of 99.999% of all life on the planet?

Really old man, the old and worn pascal's wager yet again? You have two points and both are pointless. The circular logic of the bible is true because the bible says so, and irrational fear of the imaginary boogie man. Did I miss anything or is that it?

I didn't say the deaths weren't in the Bible. I'm saying that God did not and does not commit murder.

Willfully causing the death of others is not always murder. Examples: war, execution of convicted felon under death penalty, self defense, defending others.

Please explain who is responsible for Noah and the big boat event where 99.999% of all life on the planet were deliberately caused to cease living (more commonly known as murder)? Was god at war, the babies and children that died were not convicted felons, and certainly an all powerful god did not have to kill babies to defend himself, or others.

Proverbs 1:7 says, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge, but fools despise wisdom and instruction.” This verse gives us some added insight with its antithetical parallelism—there is a sharp contrast between the wise life and the foolish life. A wise person fears/reverences/obeys the Lord; a fool despises God’s instruction and cannot be told what to do. The wise person is wise because he has started at the starting place; the fool has no foundation on which to build wisdom.

First of all, I find it interesting that someone who doesn't believe in the Bible believes that God sent a worldwide flood to the earth. It seems that anything in the Bible that you construe as "negative" you believe, and anything that is "positive" you don't believe. Either the whole Bible is true or it isn't. You can't pick and choose.

Anyway, to your question.

Noah preached 120 years to the people, warning them that needed to repent, and that God was sending destruction if they didn't. It was the people who rejected the word of God, just as they do now. It was the people themselves who refused to repent and brought about their destruction. They were responsible for themselves and their children. They would have continued their evil ways and would have gotten worse and worse. So, yes, it was a defensive action in order to preserve the continuation of mankind thru the remnant of Noah's family. It was not murder.
