I have been led down the primrose path by numerous preachers and teachers during the 50-plus years of my life, and due to the confusion they caused me, I believe The Holy Spirit led me to this decision: I would have to study the Word for myself, and allow Him to be my Teacher, if I wanted to know the Truth. A Biblical principle is this: If you want to know the Truth, you must study, diligently. I did. And I prayed, and told God that I wanted to know if He is Real. And He proved to me that He is Real. Therefore:
I mentally tossed out all that I had previously been taught by man, and then, with an open mind, I said, aloud, "God I'm going to read your Word now, and I ask that you teach me what you want me to learn." He did. That was over 18 years ago.

You can't believe what anyone tells you, unless it is backed up by the Word. And you can't prove that it's backed up unless you read it in context. Other people, preachers, evangelists, atheists or whatever are not responsible for your eternity. You are. Therefore, if you've been placing your belief on what you see other "so-called-Christians" do, you're using the wrong example. The best example is Jesus. And you can't believe what you've been taught, or what you may "think" about Him. You have to meet him Spiritually, yourself. Otherwise, you are lost as a goose.

As for you're churches do not preach tithe or the lord will be mad or the tithe and the lord will give it back to you ten fold you must not have been to as many as I have. Very popular thing to do.

Now onto evolution glad you asked. Well it is very easy to see in places all over the globe. Let us start with some I already mentioned. Hair beards and body hair have decreased in the past 100 years people are just not as hairy. Wisdom teeth are not as prevalent as they once where. As for monkeys well they have been shown to use tools and communicate. FYI humans did not evolve from monkeys and no scientifically accepted book has ever said so this was yet another twisting of facts by you guessed it the church.

There are MANY studies on many species showing evolution from the observations of Darwin of birds to modern observations of everything form insects to humans. You can see it quite easy with fruit flies who can change over a few weeks.

I will throw one at you here to ponder. Why are people who originate from equatorial areas darker then those further from it? Why do those who originate further from the equatorial latitudes have more body fat?

You people take a little bit of something and blow it all out of proportion. An example the i see and hear every day is global warming caused by man. In the summer it gets hot and then you and other people like you say it's global warming. You take a couple of so called facts and point to it and say there is the truth. There is some evolution for sure because plants, animals and people do adapt. But if life evolved here then why have the so called elite scientific community been able to create it. I have seen them try to put a bunch of liquid in a tube, hit it with a charge and then say there you see that we created life. When nothing happened. They say the universe was created by a big bang. Where did the matter come from? Where did the spark that caused the big bang. You like to quote a couple of verses from the Bible and use them completely out of context. I grow tired of listening to you people. You are the most closed minded there are. So I will add you to my ignore list and you should pray that you are correct because if you are not then you will reap what you sow!!!! Good-Bye!!

Contrary to the Pharisees the atheist reject God as well as Christ and they're blasphemy is far more detestable and foul today. An awful state of regenerate men, they're judgement will be on a level far greater and severe than the Pharisees. Sure, we all grow tired of listening to these people, but they'll never go away or shut up. You're correct, they "are the most closed minded there are" because the poor fools don't have a choice. As I've said before, atheists are so opposed to anything linked to God that their hatred gets in the way of common sense...(Proverbs 29:9).."When a wise person debates with a fool, the fool rages and laughs, and there is no peace and quiet".

No rational thought no logical debate just I am right so there! Also note the name calling. I would be willing to bet that if you had the option you would wipe all those of us who do not believe as you do right off the earth. O wait you're people have done that repeatedly over time convert or die. Please feel free to show where atheists have said do not believe in anything or die or have actually done it. Over thousands of years, billions of people have died and there is not a shred of evidence of any of the thousands of religions' gods much less of a soul, an afterlife, a heaven, a hell, any miracles ...

But there is ample evidence of the evil religion has done, and of abuses people and institutions have suffered by it and in its name.

Why do church leaders live in such opulence? Why do they build churches that cost so much instead of saving money with simple buildings? Why can the church spend untold amounts moving perv priests around instead of offering help to the victims whose parents where the ones donating the cash? Why does the church not pay taxes? Because organized religions are run by mortal humans with material minds that easily succumb to greed, power and control. Not all are this way but enough have been though out history and non-believers are quick to jump at any opportunity to exploit this. You could make the same complaint about most governments today. I make no excuses for anyone, just a fact of life.

Once again, Maine, you keep using man as the example, which helps to fuel your distaste of "religion". If you are focusing on mankind as an example... you're looking at the wrong example. Jesus is the best example for life... because He is the way, the truth, and the life. Man is basically corrupt. Jesus is not. You can get to the truth about Him by getting into the Bible.
I have a bad taste in my mouth for "religion", also, because "man's religion" is what led me down that primrose path I wrote about earlier; and I agree... much wrong has been done in the world in the name of "man's" religion.
But true religion is this: taking care of the poor and oppressed, the orphans and widows...
I also agree that a majority of evangelists seem to focus on the money... that's because they themselves have been led astray by the satanic love for money... But the Bible teaches that the Earth is the Lord's, and everything in it... a very small part of that is our money... he only wants 10%, and let's us keep the rest, but expects us to use it wisely, for good, and not evil... So it's our responsibility to see that the 10% goes to where it will do the most good. That is a personal responsibility, and some people don't really understand or even know what the Bible says about it, so they listen to what some man says, instead of studying it for themselves, therefore they let themselves be led astray by some charlatans. That is just their own failure to accept their own responsibility.
That said, I'll add this: Lumping all people who claim to be of the Christian Faith together into one lump, is like the gun-grabbers lumping responsible gun owners together with the Adam Lanzas of the world. It is inane.
Blindness is capable of being healed, both the physical and the Spiritual... but it also takes faith for both. Faith to trust in the doctors for the first, and Faith to trust in Jesus for the second.

Aggressive christians' obsession with equating religion with patriotism would be comical if it weren't so wrongheadedly and simplistically stupid. (PS-We don't "hate the cross." They are always offended by our Christen values and symbols. But if we are offended by anything that they say or do then we are the ones who are wrong and are trying to force our beliefs onto them. It's always a one way street with the non-believers their way or the highway. They want to always try to get into our face and they seem to get even more angry and upset if we smile and tell them that they are entitled to their opinion. I believe they are jealous of the peace and happiness we have. They are an empty shell and think that they will lose their freedom to do things if they become believers. As long as they think that then they will never be happy or at peace with anything. Now they will say and put up a good front about how happy they are but it is a false front. My point EXACTLY!! The books wrote by men the churches run by man and the changes enacted by man. If there was a "god" why did he not simply give man a book? Why would he not simply go on tv? If man is so faulty why would he let us write a book about what he wants us to do then let us edit the hell out of it
