Why would she check to see if her firearm, which she loaded earlier, before she put it in her safe, where no one else touched it, where guns don't magically unload themselves, was still loaded? I know exactly which of my firearms are loaded, what condition they are in, and what steps it takes to make it go boom. If I had to check to see if the bullets or shells are still chambered every time I grabbed my firearm, it would just prove to me my head isn't in the right place, I've become complacent, or just irresponsible all together.
