Defensive carry.com sold to Canadian conglomerate

You can not be banned form Defensive Carry or any forum. It's a misnomer to say someone is banned.

An account they were using is deactivated, is all. DefenciveCarry owns the account, it's their property, so they can do with it as they want (which may change now that DC is owned by Canadians, who have banned the very activity DC is about). But they do not own you. You are free to do as you will.

You are not banned. You can still make another account.

I already have another account on DefenciveCarry.

It really depends on how serious a forums moderators are when banning someone.
I know of more than a few that will institute temporary banning of a members account but in cases where a bad behaviour persists, the moderators will block their IP address.
Of coarse there are ways around that, but at that point the cycle is probably just going to start over again anyway, and theN the new address gets blocked.

Hello Everyone!! I suppose I'd use this thread to introduce my self since I too am a recent throw out from that same poor excuse of a forum as well. I hope to have good experiences here. Have a good evening, y'all!!

A DefenciveCarry admin (JD) just banned me for pointing out that he now represents a Canadian firm.

What an idiot.

Good riddance to DefenciveCarry.

I'm ashamed of you that it took you this long to get banned from there. I was banned from defensivecarry.com and thehighroad.org about 2 years ago because neither forum is very tolerant when you talk about Americans actually exercising their rights and freedoms.

Aw, don't be a party pooper. Their legions of moderators monitor the site 24/7 to close or delete badthink or discussions they don't like. And problably some random threads, just to keep people wondering if they've crossed some imaginary line. So it's mostly the same old inbred group of old-timers griping if some new member brings up something they talked about in 2003...

It's someone's "safe space", though I haven't figured out whose, yet.

I got banned from defensivecarry.com for exposing the racism of one of the moderators who parroted National Alliance talking points.

I was only there for less than a week before I got the boot. Apparently if you don't speak their language and don't go along with their extremely conservative agenda regarding gun laws, you won't be there for too long. Got into an argument with the moderator HotGuns and was pretty much told I needed to tone it down because because I told him before I even knew he was a moderator to move along because all we were doing was just useless and senseless arguing. His response was, and I quote,

You're new here Cornelius so I am going to give you a pass. Telling someone that can ban your ass to "move along" is not only ill advised but stupid.
Any more of that sort of banter and the only thing I'll be saying to you is "adios jack". You'd better tone it down.

Shortly after, the mod that goes by the name OD pretty much jumped in as well and it was pretty much over after that. Left him a fairly nasty PM saying to just ban me and get it over with that I didn't need to be part of a forum that treats members like that.
I already have another account on DefenciveCarry.

Good for you, I have no intentions of going back there, even under a whole new account. That place can stick it where the sun don't shine as far as I'm concerned.

So do you plan on arguing from an extremely leftist, pro-gun-control agenda here?

No I do not. First off, to me those kinds of debates are like politics and religion. Two topics I try to stay far away from.

Second, even though I'm more middle of the road in my beliefs, I'm not extremely leftist, not even a lot and I'm not even pro gun control in the general sense of your typical liberal who thinks no one should have guns. But, I do believe that with like everything, we need laws and and regulations. I believe there is a purpose for some of the laws we have. Not all of them. Like for example, only being able to purchase a handgun in the state you live in. Mayb you or someone else could chime in explaining why we need that law but until then, that's one of the restrictions I feel needs to be done away with.

Maybe I'm wrong but you guys probably won't agree with some of my beliefs, and that's perfectly fine but, whenever a discussion like that comes up, I won be w part of it as that's not why I'm here. I'm here to talk about guns and ammo. Besides, as I mentioned, I got involved in a debate like that over DC.com and it didn't end well.

I find it interesting that you believe you need laws and regulations to order the way you live your life around. I believe all laws concerning regulation of keeping and bearing at the federal level need to be done away with based entirely on the "shall not be infringed" clause of the Second Amendment, so obviously I have no explanation for you to justify the state lines restrictions. The BATFE is completely unconstitutional, as are the EPA, the DOE and a plethora of other alphabet agencies that have autonomous regulatory authority outside of the bounds imposed upon the federal government within the Constitution.

Wanton violence is regulatable in all its forms under the Constitution. Regulation of ownership or "zones" where it's "legal" or "illegal" to carry imposed on the states is clearly not. Hopefully, you don't really need the regulation you support in order to lead a law-abiding life, so it begs the question - why do you support them?

I only took the opposite inference to what you said above about not going along with an, "...extremely conservative agenda" and gave you the chance without any further presumptuous comment, to clarify whether or not that inference was reasonable. You kinda answered around the edges that it is not a reasonable inference, but still say you support gun control laws that many, if not most, around here oppose with every fiber of our being. If you don't want to discuss politics and right vs. left issues, then likely posting about "extremely conservative agendas" on a website devoted to one of the most blatantly conservative issues in America, Second Amendment rights, isn't the best way to avoid those discussions.

No, I didn't say "I" needed these laws for me. If everyone was good people who didn't commit crimes, we wouldn't need laws to begin with. Im not talking about restricting good people. But if requiring a permit to carry HELPS to keep guns out of the wrong hands, I'm all for it. I have my permit, and I'm damn proud of it. I don't look at it as another way for the state to make money off me. If y'all do and If requiring permits bothers you then that's your opinion and that is your right.

Now, I know that some states charge a ridiculous amount of money to get a permit. Spending 1500 dollars on a carry permit in some places is downright retarded. Well, to avoid confusion and possible retortion lemmie change that to its retarded and bullsnot to charge that much. To get my permit in Oklahoma, I only had to pay a hundred bucks for 5 years. 25 to get my fingerprints at the sheriffs office and another 25 for the class they make you take.

Yes, I do have my specific beliefs but I'm not going to preach them to the crowd. The onlfact reason I did in these last couple of replies is because I was kinda baited into it..lol.

I wasn't around at DC. Com long enough to get banned it was boring

I'm just curious but what did you find boring about it? Aside from the one-sided attitude from the people who ran it and from their little minions, I didn't find it boring. There was actually pretty good info from most of the members.

Like I said though, wanton violence is regulatable under the Constitution in all its forms, and permission slips are simply infringements and revenue generation strategies imposed in 40-some-odd states across this country that have no relationship whatsoever to reducing violent crime. Assuming that a permission slip establishes that the holder of it is "good people" is wildly imaginative, but has no basis in fact. All it shows is that the holder had enough money, time and will to jump through whatever hoops the municipality or state forces them to jump through in order for them to acquire permission to carry the weapon that was their right to carry according to the laws of nature and of nature's God before the municipality or state was ever formed.

To my way of thinking, if I don't need the state regulating my perfectly lawful way of life, then I don't need them regulating others' lives either. That's why I said it was interesting that you do feel such a personal need. Otherwise, you would expect the state to leave you and every other law-abiding citizen alone unless and until you or they ran afoul of laws concerning issues that the Constitution provides authority for the federal government to involve itself with enforcing.

I have my permit, and I'm damn proud of it. I don't look at it as another way for the state to make money off me.

Then you fail to recognize truth and reality. There isn't a single statistic that you can pull up that proves that permission slip schemes provide any positive affect whatsoever on violent crime rates. All they do instead is create statewide databases of people who own guns, and the people on those lists have to pay for the intrusion against their privacy to get on them. As I understand it, you not only have to have a mug-shot style picture of yourself on your permission slip in OK, you also have to submit fingerprints like a common criminal. I will never understand what there is to be "proud" of by submitting to such indignities and violations of your rights. It's one thing to begrudgingly comply just to make one's life easier, but "damn proud of" submitting to having to pay to exercise your God-given rights? I honestly don't get it. You do seem reasonably articulate. Perhaps you can explain what there is to be proud of by submitting to state-sponsored extortion before you can exercise your rights.

If y'all do and If requiring permits bothers you then that's your opinion and that is your right.

Yes, of course, everybody, including you, has the right to recognize and accept truth and reality. I wasn't looking for your permission to do that.

How much does Oklahoma charge criminals for finger prints during booking? And don't say it's included in whatever fines are assessed subsequent to booking, because not everyone who gets booked, gets convicted of anything, or even necessarily gets charged with anything. I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that suspected or actual criminals don't have to pay anything for submitting to being printed, only people exercising their natural, fundamental rights do, and even then, only one of the enumerated rights in the Bill of Rights is ever thusly price-tagged. And you're "damn proud" of this theft of your money and rights, why?

Yes, I do have my specific beliefs but I'm not going to preach them to the crowd. The onlfact reason I did in these last couple of replies is because I was kinda baited into it..lol.

Hmm.... Yeah, I think you're again failing to recognize truth and reality. I simply asked a one-line question that you spent three paragraphs of tangential banter on after answering it unequivocally in the first sentence. I simply engaged you based entirely on what you said, which is how actual discussions go in the real world and on internet forums if two or more parties are willing to engage in a back-and-forth, give-and-take discussion. Obviously, I mistook you for such a person.

Guess I don't follow.

Those are common topics that come up on pretty much every gun forum over and over and over and over again. They were evident at DC.com last time I bothered logging in.

Melody Lauer (Limatunes) was also a major contributer last time I was there and I find her and her attempts to be the next Kathy Jackson quite annoying.

And then there are the serial pot-stirrers. Your best bet with them, corneileous, is to make your own choice whether to discuss things with them or not, same as it is for the "dominance humpers" if you actually believe that kind of tripe. It's called freedom. Hopefully you don't need advice from strangers on the internet about who to interact with and who not to. We all have our crosses to bear. Eidolon is certainly not exempt from that truism. Neither am I and neither are you. You're free to actually discuss the things you say that garner replies, or not, and nothing Eidolon says makes your decisions in that regard more or less justified. Except for some over-sensitivity to certain words directed at certain types of people, this forum is very nearly wide open to discuss anything you want (almost) any way you want. Have at it, and don't worry, no one's trying to "hump" you in any way, shape, manner or form.

To my way of thinking, if I don't need the state regulating my perfectly lawful way of life, then I don't need them regulating others' lives either.
With that said, since only law abiding citizens follow the law, and criminals do not, do you suggest we just abolish all laws and let everyone do as they please? And no, it's not a rhetorical question. I mean after all, criminals disregard the law, why should we? Wouldn't that make us criminals too?
There isn't a single statistic that you can pull up that proves that permission slip schemes provide any positive affect whatsoever on violent crime rates.
Well, I guess it's kind of an oxymoron because only law abiding people are eligible for a permit. But atleast with it being the way it is, if I see someone openly carrying or if I learn someone is conceal carrying, hopefully I could assume they aren't a criminal because they're carrying. Someone carrying that isn't supposed to is either really, really dumb or they just got balls of solid rock.
All they do instead is create statewide databases of people who own guns, and the people on those lists have to pay for the intrusion against their privacy to get on them.
This only pertains to those that look at it that way.
As I understand it, you not only have to have a mug-shot style picture of yourself on your permission slip in OK,....
Mugshot picture, huh? Good one. Guess the photograph on my drivers license is a mugshot style pic too?
.......you also have to submit fingerprints like a common criminal.
The only thing I can think of is that the fingerprinting is part of the background check. Whether it is or isn't, I got nothin' as to why it's required.
Again, it all depends on one's perspective. To legally carry a loaded firearm on your person for protection is a legally obtained permit. Maybe "damn proud" was a bad choice of word but, I am glad to have it because I feel as though I am legally viewed as authorized to carry my gun and not have to worry about breaking any laws. And until the law changes, this is how it is.

Is it also state sponsored extortion to drive a car? Have insurance on your car? Build a house? Add on to a house? Kill a deer? Catch a fish? Talk on a ham radio?? These are normal ways of life. Carrying a loaded gun on you in public shouldn't be any different. But I am curious. If you have this ability and have a permit to do so, why the problem with it? Because it's an infringement?

Yes, of course, everybody, including you, has the right to recognize and accept truth and reality. I wasn't looking for your permission to do that.
Sorry you took it that way but me saying what I did was not saying I grant you permission. Basically I was saying I didn't care. What you do or believe is none of my business.

I really don't know. Never been a criminal. But if I had to guess, it's probly free along with wearing the matching chrome bracelets free of charge as well.

And you're "damn proud" of this theft of your money and rights, why?
Again, it's only considered theft of you look it that way. Freedom isn't free. Last I checked, everything comes with a price.

Hmm.... Yeah, I think you're again failing to recognize truth and reality.
Maybe I am. I'm just wondering why it bothers you. You act like I'm fighting tooth and nail to keep it this way.
I simply asked a one-line question that you spent three paragraphs of tangential banter on after answering it unequivocally in the first sentence.
Probably because I didn't think your one line question deserved a one line answer.

Maybe I should've just replied with a simple "no" so we wouldn't be having the type of discussion I said I usually try to avoid because this is how it usually ends up, just like this one.
I simply engaged you based entirely on what you said, which is how actual discussions go in the real world and on internet forums if two or more parties are willing to engage in a back-and-forth, give-and-take discussion.Obviously, I mistook you for such a person.

As I said, my saying what part of trying to avoid discussions like this did you not understand? I thought it was pretty clear, maybe that's just me.
