Daylight Savings Day.

Untrue. Ice is less dense than water, this is why it floats. When water freezes, it expands. Hence why full water bottles or bottles of pop or beer will burst when freezing.

So when ice in a glass melts, the level of the water will actually decrease., unless some of the ice is rising above the glass, in which case the level of the water will likely rise. Hence why Miami will sink... Because glaciers that are now above water will be underwater when they melt.=)

Actually water is most dense at about 32 degrees at sea level. Water sinks at about 32 degrees (depends on elevation), which causes lakes to turn over. I know that from my fishing days.

As far as DST, I set my clocks in the middle of the day on Saturday, and go to bed at my normal time. I wake on Sunday without losing 1 hr, it is just misplaced.

I think the funniest part of DST, was Bush, starting DST sooner, and ending DST later, as part of his energy policy (program).

My husband is of German origin born and raised in farmlands Riley, Kansas, speaks very little German. 'Glad to be of help...but then there's Google ya' know...:sarcastic:
