Very odd......a trained and decorated seal and snyper at that with four combat tours of duty and someone gets close enough to him to shoot and kill him at a gun range where he most likely was armed and he didn't see this coming? My very first thought when I read the article in the news was BS, My dishonest side is telling me that the pentagon decided this was the best way to deal with him for writing his book. No way they would bring him up on formal charges and this go through the court system. HMMMMMM....also an eye opener for other soldiers/heroes who want to share there experiences. Curious to see the explination and how much smoke is going to get blown up our butts by the press and the government over this.

A true tragedy. BUT should re-enforce the idea that ALL at ranges should not be taken as AS ALL are safe in handling and shooting. I've walked away from a few public ranges due to the sense of uncertainty of the people on it. (my sense may have been unwarranted, but it was my sense)

Take a moment and reflect on the past five, even six years, how the conversations and messages from this band of socialist rogues, through the media, has controlled the agenda. How the things that have happened (racially charged incidents, oil rig explosions, shootings, etc...) within a relatively close proximity is a staggering coincidence.

I haven't seen or heard any details of the shooting including what you described.......not yet anyways, two people were shot and killed and the shooter was able to exit only to be apprehended a short time later off the property. YES....absolutely something stinks here!!!!!! it makes no sence at all. Were there only three people at the range that day? No fellow shooters, No range masters or supervisors? No one to confront the shooter before he walked away. I think this very unlikely.

A gun range is a gun free zone? Are lanes 1 through 5 for knitting? And 6 through 10 for long range bingo? Did you read before you posted?
Just shows you that no matter how good you are with firearms, if you don't know it's coming you have no chance.
Like an unsuspected serial killer who just walks up and puts a round in you. All the training in the world means nothing unless you have time to react. If you are on someone's hit list you can only hope you have time to see it coming.

I sure wonder what brought that shooting on. Just seems crazy at the firing range. just seems so crazy you think your around fellow shooters. what is this world coming to? Such a sad thing.

Thanks for posting this article it explains a lot, I just could not understand how at a range with fellow shooters one could have this happen. I have to think Routh just did not know what he was doing, just went crazy for some unknown reason. Very sad they were trying to help this sick fellow veteran.
