CCW in the post office?

Its a felony for sure to carry within a Federal bldg.
Sorry if it has been asked. But can you keep it in the parking lot at a federal bldg. Reason I ask is, schools were forbidden till recently where I live, in sc. If you had a CWP you still werent allowed to have it in your car, locked, while on campus. Now you can. You cant carry on campus. Used to not be able to do this, so for example, if you were picking up or dropping off kids at school, you could NOT have it in your car etc with CWP. Now you can.
Is this the same for federal, USPS etc..

The Post Office is actually under additional regulations than standard Federal facilities are. Firearms are prohibited, by law [18 USC 930] inside Federal facilities. The administrator of a Federal facility may prohibit firearms in the parking lot of the building, but carrying a firearm in the parking is really only a violation of that policy, not a crime. Once you enter the building, you then come under the actual prohibition in law contained in 18 USC 930.
The Post Office, however, has an additional Code of Federal Regulation. The CFR that applies to the Post Office only prohibits not only the possession of firearms in the building, but also storage of firearms on postal property which is any property leased by or under the control of the Post Office, including the public parking lots solely leased or controlled by the Post Office. Violation of the CFR carries it's own criminal penalty of 30 days in a Federal prison + a fine. Another difference is that in order to be convicted of possessing a firearm in a Federal facility - the facility must be posted with conspicuous signs. The CFR for the Post Office also contains a requirement for the posting of a notice, but that notice is not required to be posted at the entranced and the CFR contains no provision for not being able to prosecute for lack of posting.

Now I'm not really up to speed on the whole background here (I'm sure there's some interesting stuff) and couple that with that fact that you are obviously a strong individual with staunch beliefs I would hate to have you take umbrage with anything I'm about to say, but...
It doesn't necessarily speak to me that just because someone states that a law brings with it certain potential repurcussions that they indeed "support" that law, as you so nobely described. Merely telling another that there can be serious implications if one were to violate said law does not appear to be even close to supporting said law - it is simply a statement of current fact and conditions. Of course, I could be wrong but, hey, wouldn't be the first time.
Also you seem to feel that those, who have noted the penalties for violating those laws, may be lacking in certain anatomical characteristics that you, probably, have in abundance. So surmising that you yourself are seemingly profusely endowed one might ask the question: have you been the rebel and proudly "disobeyed" these earlier stated laws?

Very well thought out and good response, ty... I did fail to look at that aspect and humbly thank you for pointing it out. You are correct that you can point out penalties without supporting the "law" as proper or "legal"
As far as you last paragraph... I have already answered that by stating that I am not stupid..... Admitting to some things on an open forum would be just that...
I don't recall seeing any news stories about anyone carrying their gun past the metal detectors in a Federal courthouse lately claiming that it is their 2nd Amendment right to do so and they refuse to be arrested and will not go to court. So, I guess in real life that really must work out well for you, eh? Or maybe you could put actions behind your internet keyboard bravado and call the media and let them know you are going to be exercising your 2nd Amendment rights and are going to take a gun past security at XYZ Federal courthouse, then do it and let us know your success. Until then I guess we will just have to take your word for it that you are the greatest patriot to ever live in the 21st Century.
You are really good at looking down your nose at people attempting to supply FACTS to others so they can make their own INFORMED decisions. And unless you are going to look down your nose at me from the OTHER side of the security checkpoint in a Federal building with your gun at your side you will remain nothing more than an internet patriot hiding behind his keyboard tooting his own horn.

OK, so what I think you are saying, Axeanda45 is that you ignore laws that you deem to be unconstitutional in quiet ways that have little possibility of detection and arrest, but if you were ever detected breaking one of these laws quietly and under the radar such as carrying a concealed firearm in a post office, in a school zone, or without a permit that you would then refuse to be arrested?

Carrying a firearm in a Federal Building IS legal IF such carry is incidental to hunting OR for other lawful purposes.
18 U.S.C. § 930 : US Code - Section 930
(a) Except as provided in subsection (d), whoever knowingly possesses or causes to be present a firearm or other dangerous weapon in a Federal facility (other than a Federal court facility), or attempts to do so, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than 1 year, or both.
(d) Subsection (a) shall not apply to -
(3) the lawful carrying of firearms or other dangerous weapons in a Federal facility incident to hunting or other lawful purposes.
Postal Regulations are NOT Law....They are for the regulation of the Post Office and an argument can be made that they do not apply, or at least do NOT carry the weight of law, the the citizenry in general.
And YES....I am willing to be the test case.

Concealed is concealed. The Second Amendment is the Second Amendment. Don't carry where you aren't supposed to but remember you can't even legally leave it in the car if you are in their parking lot (of course there is a law about it being locked up and in transit between two places where it is legal for you to have a gun). The leftists seem to be big on don't ask don't tell until they legalize something they want legal.

Surprisingly I once carried into a museum (not posted County museum) where because of a "special" exhibit they had people with "wands" checking everyone who came in. I was carrying a Glock 26 under my left arm. I walked right by they waved their wands while they were busy talking. Don't ask, don't tell.

I am a bit confused here. I know we can't carry inside the USPS building, but didn't a Federal Judge in Colorado recently rule that is is legal to have a gun in your car in the Post Office parking lot?
