I have the same question, just curious.
Thanks,

Why? What is the rationale for this?
Also Vermont and Alaska. The same reason I do in Arizona. We have BOTH concealed, as well as open carry. Now, thanks to our common sense Governor Jan Brewer, we can do both without a permit as it should be. It makes zero sense to have open carry without a permit, then require one if you cover it with a T shirt. This whole thing is starting to reek of a typical trigger happy cop story. Bill T.
In NV once you have your CCW you can not open carry.
If I'm "Metro", and there is a video, which there obviously is, and it shows officers were just in this shooting, I would have it broadcast over every media and Internet outlet known to man, with the Chief Of Police personally giving the play by play. It would be stupid not to with all of this negative controversy brewing. The victims family attorney on local TV, billboards asking "Where are the tapes?". The longer they, (the cops), drag this thing out and hide under their desks, the worse they look. Both in and out of court. Something stinks, that's for certain. If police have direct evidence that justifies their behaviour, you can bet they'd have it out in 5 minutes. They don't. Bill T.
This logic implies that a licensed driver can no longer ride a bicycle. Please provide a statutory reference.
Now why would the instructors not like open carry? This is not true in NV about not being able to open carry once you have a ccw. This belief stems from several ccw instructors telling this to students. I almost did not get my ccw because someone who took a class was told this, and relayed it to me. I did some checking and found that some ccw instructors do not believe in open carry and spread this. Also, some do tell students it is "best" to conceal if you have a permit, since open carry can lead to issues such as complaints, confrontations, etc. But there is nothing in any statute or legislation regarding open carry period. I went so far as to call the ccw detail in vegas and they practically laughed at me and said that does not even make sense. Which of course it doesn't
For those of you not familiar with Las Vegas Metro tactics they have a nasty habit of shooting first and asking questions later. I've seen it many times in my thirty yrs here in Vegas. Before all you thin blue liners start your whinning--the Police controlled inquest has NEVER returned an unjustified shooting result to my recollection.
Thanks for clearing that up. When I got my CCW back in1999 that is what they told us. So I do believe you are right about some trainer. They told us once the gun was on our CCW, and back then you could only have one gun on your card, it had to be concealed. Thank God I live in KY. now and can do both with any second looks.
A West Point grad was shopping at Costco when a customer noticed he was carry a concealed weapon and called police. Las Vegas Police shot and killed the man. The family of the CCW holder said he was complying with police commands. You be the judge. here's the link:
