I hope you're 100% correct that it will happen.
I lived in Santa Clara County. You remember that place? It's the county that passed legislation forbidding McDonald's from putting toys in kid's meals because they were getting fat....S.F. soon followed. That is pretty typical of the mentality that I was exposed to for over three years.
I'd bet dollars to dog biscuits that Santa Clara County never will convert. Remember that it's basically Silicone Valley...full of really smart people with absolutely no common sense.
It's not entirely voluntary. :wink: CalGuns has become the big guns in firearms lawyers, and they've made some pretty solid strides.
If you remember Santa Clara county, you may also remember what Sacramento is like. They are effectively shall issue as part of a legal settlement:

Yolo county was part of the same suit and is fighting to the end (and expected to loose) which will apply that loss to remaining counties.

Lowjiber, I have lived here for 32 years and although I hate to admit it, you are probably right. It never ceases to amaze me how different Southern California is from the north. San Diego is a pro-military, fiscally conservative area, while the north, especially Sacramento and San Francisco keep moving more and more toward the socialist left. I think we need a North California and a South California. (of course that would stick us with LA LA Land).
