They are matching death records with pistol permit holder records and sending officers out to "collect" the guns. No more keeping it as a family heirloom.

The arrogance of liberals. The stupid people can't make good decisions and must have government do that for them. What part of "shall not be infringed" is so hard to understand?

After Funeral They come to collect the guns. How the He!! do they know you have guns?

New York requires that you register any handgun, with a very few possible exceptions. I'm not a resident, so I can't quote the law, but I do know that you have to register handguns if you possess them in the state.

With the new law that was passed by mindless lemmings in Washington that goes into effect on December 4th, this will happen here too. Washington Department of Licensing already has a database of pistols purchased from FFLs in Washington. The new law from I-594 will require:

(g) A person who ... acquired a pistol by operation of law upon the death of the former owner of the pistol within the preceding sixty days. At the end of the sixty-day period, the person must either have lawfully transferred the pistol or must have contacted the department of licensing to notify the department that he or she has possession of the pistol and intends to retain possession of the pistol, in compliance with all federal and state laws.

John Q. Public dies, the DOL looks in their database and sees that he purchased 5 pistols over the course of 10 years from FFLs in Washington - on day 61 anti-gun sheriff knocks on John Public's widow's door with a search warrant signed by Judge Fred Bonner for the guns and arrests her if they find the pistols in the house. Instant felon, go to jail, do not pass GO, do not collect $200.

Michigan requires it as well. Came close to doing away with it last summer. With complete control of both houses of the MI legislature, the push is on to git 'r done now.

Although, with the MI State Police having kittens over the re-classification of air rifles as pneumatic guns instead of firearms - and the repubs actually listening to them - my confidence level ain't real high, if you now what I mean.

A while back there was a story about one of the north east freedom hating states had a program to go confiscate prescription drugs immediately upon the death of the person. I can't find the article, but a similar one turned up in Utah, of all places. Cops came in as the family was still mourning.

Registration! From what I have read on here, New York does require registration of weapons, permits to buy, etc. If that is true, that is how the police would know and the reason I will never register anything!

Anyone who argues registration doesn't lead to confiscation doesn't have a clue.

I'll play "Devils Advocate".

The vast majority of American citizens are not willing to fight and die for anything let alone their freedoms. One way or another our government will, in time, confiscate all guns from the American citizens. I say that nothing is going to stop them, and UNTIL I hear on the news that citizens are actually shooting those attempting to confiscate their guns I'll stand by what I say. Now all of the Rambo rhetoric & BS can begin, but like I said, UNTIL I hear of citizens actually shooting in defense of those attempting to confiscate their guns it's ALL BS.

I believe that the number of firearms pried from cold dead hands will be extremely few, but I do believe there will be a few. The government has already infringed upon the 2nd Amendment to the extent that overthrow of the government by force is all but impossible - but in the next century the Federal government will collapse under it's own spending and regulation, just like the government of the former USSR did.

I go back and forth between what you say above and thinking nah, it's very close to getting sparked off. Bunkerville (Bundy Ranch) was a decent sign that serious Patriots are willing to take the field. It's not much, but then, it didn't really take much to make the government back down. As Mike Vanderboegh says, and has built fairly sizable following by consistently repeating, "No more free Wacos!" He meant it and several hundred honest-to-goodness Patriots showed up with the same attitude to confront a usurping, thieving government leviathan successfully. I actually prefer hearing about citizens forcing the government to back down rather than hearing about them shooting the New Gestapo. Testing the resolve of the enemy goes both ways. "We" had more resolve in that instance anyway.

I haven't seen anyone around here post about this yet, but it turns out that Eric Frein, the "survivalist" who killed one and injured another PA LEOs was not just a thoughtless murderer. While I don't condone cold-blooded murder, his rationale was to be the spark that set things off according to a letter he wrote to his parents. I'm not holding the guy up as any kind of example to follow, but what he wrote sounds very much like a letter that any Patriot might've sent their loved ones if Bunkerville had gone another way. This is what he said to them:

Our nation is far from what it was and what it should be. I have seen so many depressing changes made in my time that I cannot imagine what it must be like for you. There is so much wrong and on so many levels only passing through the crucible of another revolution can get us back the liberties we once had. I do not pretend to know what that revolution will look like or even if it would be successful.

Tension is high at the moment and the time seems right for a spark to ignite a fire in the hearts of men. What I have done has not been done before and it felt like it was worth a try.

If I am dead I would like to be buried in a wood casket (no lead lined casket!) so that my remains can return to where they came from. I realize that this may not be possible though, laws and what not, so don't sweat it. Also, light a candle for me at the Russian or Greek Orthodox church in Stroudsburg from time to time. It doesn't need to be during a liturgy, just whenever they are open. I am sure you can figure it out.

I do not have a death wish but I know the odds. I tried my best to do this thing without getting identified, but if you are reading this then I was not successful. If I am still alive and free know that I will do my best to remain as such. And as time goes by, if circumstances change, if my spark hit good tinder, then I may be able to return one day.

I am sorry. You guys are great parents, I am just not a good son. I squandered so much opportunity and support and rarely tried my best at anything. God knows I do not deserve the things I had, maybe He knew I would be sacrificing all of it in the end, or maybe this is just the final squander. Who knows.

I love you. Please forgive me of my many faults. And thanks for putting up with me for so long.

I haven't heard much chatter about significant resistance to the SAFE Act coming out of NY, but I do think if Malloy and Lawlor make good on their threats to start raids in CT, there will be real resistance there. Then again, maybe not. Like I said, I go back and forth. These are uncertain times on the corporeal plane. Much less so on the spiritual. Maranatha indeed Brother, Maranatha indeed.

I agree w/Ringo not many will stand ! History will repeat it's self and I believe it will be the 3% just as it was w/ the revolution , maybe ................

The difference is those 3% fighting the American Revolution had access to the exact same firearms their government did. Our government learned from that it......

To be fair most home health care nurses do the exact same thing. As soon as the patient is pronounced they gather up all the meds and dispose of them.
