Arkansas concealed carry license

I spent my time here, reading up on the state laws and at the range and the time really just flew by. It'll be here before you know it. This forum really has a lot to offer in the way of gun knowledge and gun laws. The posters here for the most part (because we all know a few trolls!) are a great bunch of guys! Very knowledgeable and have great insight into the political side of the Pro Gun debate. Best gun forum around!
 
ASP Received mine and my wife's application on January 24th. Just today did my status change from waiting on documentation to pending background check.
 
Still pending background check for me. I've resigned myself to the 120 day wait, anything shorter will be gravy.
 
Arkansas CCL return time?

Yeah, I was a little more hopeful but I guess we are in for the long haul. Mailed mine in mid feb. nothing showing up on website at all. They have cashed the check though. LOL
 
Still waiting on mine. Took the class 2/16. Mailed the week after when I got paid. Check cleared 3/5, so they have my stuff. No update on the web site. Was hoping things would slow down once the "gun ban"/Assault weapons thing died down.
I think it may be the 120 day wait......guess that is ok if it means getting approved.......saves having to buy a holster. I am not spending THAT money unitl I have been granted licensure. Sure wish prices on stuff would go down. Looked at an extended magazine for my handgun and it was like $50. That seems outrageous. Will post if any changes.
 
I took mine in White Hall at Last Resort with the Monk brothers. Really enjoyed the course. When/if I get this license, I plan to take the more advanced courses as time/money permit.

Just talked to a CCHL Instructor. According to him, ASP is 8400 applications behind. It will be the full 120 days.
 
I know they had asked the Governor for more staff. I am hearing from more than one source they are about 8400 apps behind. Five people are working their tale off. Like all things, sometimes things can change with a little pressure directed in the right direction. I have wondered if it would help these great people if we started a petitiion to submit to the Governor to give these people some help to get rid of the back log. Just a thought. It's not about really expediting one person's permit or another but when you have a huge volume of work needing to be done, it seems counter-productive and counter-intuitive not to have ample resources to effectively and efficiently get the job done.
And there are ALWAYS areas where waste can be cut to achieve greater efficiency in another area. These people working on these apps need a medal or something. But I am sure they would prefer some help...haha
 
Even though the Governor could help with more people on the state check but theres always the FBI check that has to be run also. I don't "know" that he has the pull for that. And also it's not just AR that's running behind on Fed checks, its that all the states are. :frown:

I've got several family members in Indiana that applied in January and early Feb and are still waiting for what used to be a 2 to 4 week process.
