what do you guys think of it?? is there a cheap gun out there that simulates a little recoil just to practice sight alignment and transitions for under $30 or so??

i think it's good training with airsoft i don't have one and never purchased on but used them in training scenarios it was fun and i learned alot in class that used them...there is no recoil on them though at least the ones we used nothing like a bullet being cycled through a gun though but it's good for tactics and what would you do scenarios....

What you want is a gas blow back air soft. Recoil is nil, like a .22, but you get the practice of reaquiring the sights.

hows the price point on those??

You can get GBB (gas blow back) airsoft pistols as cheap as $20...then they can go up over $500. It really depends on the quality of the airsoft. Plastic vs metal. Red vs green gas. I take it you have an XDm? It looks like Tokyo Marui was supposed to come out with an XD replica for around $220...but I can't seem to find it anywhere online to buy. The majority seem to be 1911 replicas, Beretta M9 replicas, and various others...the closet to your firearm would be the glock replicas. From personal experience, I wouldn't spend less than $150 on an airsoft pistol. Because it is so cost effective to shoot the BB's and reuse them, pay more upfront for a quality training pistol so you don't break it and have to fix it continuously just to train.

The rifle that Haley is using in his video is most likely minimum $400 (the optic is probably the exact same as his real rifles optic and so that alone is $300+). If you are going to take training seriously, it will be an expensive venture upfront. The amount of money you save on ammunition, gas to get to the range, and time is going to be well worth it though.

thanks for your response. I actually found the xdm replica online and it is about $220. that is a little steep for me right now but the savings would pay for itself. and the trigger time on a bb gun that is almost exactly the same as my live gun would be valuable as well.

Buy Tokyo Marui XDM.40 (GBB)-Tokyo Marui & other Airsoft gun accessories at redwolfairsoft.com another one but "out of stock".

I agree, at this time most of us are figuring out our finances. I think you are on the right track. The savings of being able to buy 2000 bb's and reuse them for under $20, and not having to leave your home to train saving on gas, the cost would pay itself off after a few training sessions you would have had to go the range and buy ammo. Good luck! Now if only someone would make an FNP 45 replica....I might just have to settle for a 1911 replica...

I just found out today that unarmed makes an XDm replica bb gun

Most airsoft guns under $30 bucks do not have the recoil action( otherwise known as blow back). They are made of plastic and will not hold up to the strain of blow back . What you are looking for is a full metal gun with blow back. They will run you about $80 bucks and up.
