You can drag a horse to water, but I know no way to drag a theist to reason. Now some do find their way, on their own, by actually questioning their religious teachings, but most won't/can't.

Regardless of any evidence you lead them to, you can't make an atheist think, they are so opposed to anything linked to God that their hatred gets in the way of common sense.

You got it backwards, we did and do think, that's why we are atheists, we don't swallow bull sh!t without question.

"Once upon a time there was this supreme being and he hated his creation, so he murdered millions and millions of them because even the effing fairy tale is beyond lame"

Nope, ain't buying such bull sh!t.....

But seriously, *_IF_* there were a valid argument for god, I would re-evaluate my position, but no one has ever presented one there is no point. Sure I've seen untold numbers of Pascal's Wagers (you'll be sorry) arguments, but that is about it.

So threaten me again with threats of eternal torment and the other nonsense and see how scared I don't become, and how it only proves that you don't have a valid argument for god.

No way, I've had you figured from the beginning. All lies begin with self-deceit. Satan is self-deceived and the father of all lies, therefore you being of their father the devil have the nearest alliance to Satan. An awful state of degenerates, you partake of the same principles and propensities which characterize the very nature and essence of your father the devil. The reason for your resistance and rage is because God's word is truth, and the truth terrifies you. Your only hope is that there is no afterlife, your greatest fear is that there is. When confronted with any debate you're only able to issue negative commentary because, once again, regardless of any evidence you're lead to, you can't be made to think, you're so opposed to anything linked to God that your hatred gets in the way of common sense.

Ah, calling on another imaginary critter from your collection of horror stories, none other than satan.

I have no fear of an afterlife, what a stupid concept.

So in one rambling paragraph you have played the satan card, The Pascal's wager card, and personal insults. If you wanted to validate the existence of your god, you would offer something to support that instead of attacking me. There's one catch to that isn't there, you can't, so you're stuck with nonsense and insults. Do you really think the above demonstrates anything, except you are consumed with irrational hatred based on nothing more than ancient folklore.

Do missionaries for Christ have no purpose? If God does the calling, missionaries aren't needed.

Sure, missionaries have a purpose and that is why they go all over the world. God has to plant the seed of faith, the missionaries come along and spread the Word, keep the garden growing and make further inroads into propagating the faith. It was Jesus who said that the Father calls the people to Him. No argument there. Yes, missionaries are needed just as the original disciples were needed and they carry on from them. Everything works well so far!

Although I can't give an accurate definition of an atheist, there are some things that they all seem to have in common, their disbelief is based on presupposition, or to conclude something before an investigation is commenced. Only when one can definitely prove that there is no God can they make the assertion that he doesn't, or hasn't, existed. There is a belief that, anti-supernaturalism, which is a disbelief in either God's existence or in His intervention in the natural order of the universe. That seems to be their general thesis but I have yet to find any substance to that belief.

In the Pentateuch, it is stated no less than 235 times that God "spoke" to Moses, or God "commanded Moses" to do something. It seems that atheists, who have an anti-supernaturalism bias, or presupposition, would immediately reject these accounts as unhistorical, and that we live in a "closed system" where there can be no interference from the outside by an alleged God. Belief in a "closed system" where every cause has a natural effect and, that there is no God.

Basic tenets of the Bible such as the Resurrection are rejected by the modern researcher, not by historical examination but because of their assertion that, "There is no God." By historical examination, it can be proved that Jesus Christ did exist and was crucified. Pilate even wrote to Rome concerning Jesus and the documents are supposedly intact in a museum there.

Nothing that I (we) say here will ever convince a naysayer that Jesus is real. I would love to see any atheist actually study the Bible and it's history and prove to me that it is wrong and that there is no God.

There may well have been a man name Jesus that did good, or tried, nor would he be the first to be executed unjustly.... but the son of a god.... really you buy that?

If you consider spreading hate and ignorance a good thing... and no it has not work well, it has been a freaking disaster for people all across the globe.

It is doubtful that we will ever come to an agreement on here concerning the existence of God. There is a plethora of written material that attempts to deny Him but there is one book that no one can refute, the Bible. It is historically accurate, and current to all ages. There are a number of very learned people who make vain attempts to deny God, from the very beginning of our existence, to today, and even to our prophetic future.

XD's post referencing Isaac Asimov as an authority against belief in the Bible is simply proffering the Humanist belief of striving for a progressive society which can (or will) do good without the intervention of, or need for, a god. Asimov was, at one time, president of the American Humanist Association which encompasses all of the "isms," atheism, agnosticism, rationalism, etc. Theirs is the act of striving for a worldview and set of ethical values established in philosophy and scientific knowledge. For people of this ilk, God is anathema and vigorously denounced. It is amazing to me that they can not accept the possibility of God existing and being the Creator of all. For me, it is just as difficult to not believe in God. There is one consolation however, and final opportunity for non-believers. When all of the punishments foretold by the Bible, the Rapture has happened, and the world is in it's final throes, there will still be one last opportunity to repent and save one's soul. God will offer us one final opportunity for salvation. Isn't God great?

The bible or if it were correctly titled "gods little planet or horrors" should be the cause anyone sleepless nights and an aversion to god and religion. In comparison Steven King writes nursery school rhymes compared the the sick twisted tales of mass murder, torture, and irrational actions of the main character.

Your ignorance of atheism is stunning, and you're are proud of your ignorance by posting it in such a manner.

Yes there is no god. DONE
God is not the problem, but his followers are.

Do you hate Santa, even though you know he is imaginary?
Do you hate the Easter Bunny, even through you know it is imaginary?

Do you have the character/courage to answer the two questions above as "yes" or "no"

You are never going to be as big as Jesus.

You will not be written about for generations.

You will not be prayed to and talked about for thousands of years.

Ah...the grasshoppers desire to be greater than the Master.

sinful nature is always hostile to God....

I'm smarter than those that believe in fairy tales, so I soar far higher that the delusional fairy tale fans groveling for a ticket to an imaginary nirvana can even fathom. Your mind is enslaved to this nonsense based on nothing but ancient folklore of long dead goatherders that believed the sun was carried across the sky in a chariot. How sad...

Of course you should deny that, but perhaps you should read up on the Stockholm Syndrome before you do.

But you do believe in a Jewish Zombie that rose from the dead, and go nibble on crackers in lieu of his flesh, and talk (often out loud) to imaginary friends. Nope, living in the buy belt, I see it demonstrated frequently, when they are not flipping frantically through their book looking for justification for their hatred toward anyone with different views.
