You conveniently omitted the part of my post your were addressing, so I'll re-post it here; and clearly ignored the request for a reasonable response, but that's OK, I didn't anticipate one, as I pointed out, you don't have one.

I noticed that you respond only with school yard taunts, how about a reasonable responses with thought, and most importantly facts.

Many stars, and possibly the civilization that was warmed by that star died at the end of their life cycle. When the star died the heavy elements described by Carl Sagan were created in the dying star.

We consider ourselves civilized, but are we really. One marker of civilization it the construction of infrastructure, that we have done. But is that truly intelligent life? Based on how we treat our fellow man, we are not even on par with the ants in the ant farm, and the source of much of that hostility between members of the species, the belief in the imaginary deity. Perhaps an alien version of Captain Kirk has visited our planet, and made the call "beam me up Scotty, there's no intelligent life down here". After we are barbarians that worship idols, or at least a majority do.

The numbers in the universe are really beyond the capability of most of us to grasp. But keep in mind when unimaginably numbers are involved, it is possibly to buy enough lotto tickets to win 1,000 times in a row. It was no accident, but a definite mathematical probability given the vast numbers, and in no way indicates that any deity was involved or exists.

And while there are scientists that believe in god, they are clearly a tiny minority. According to a 1998 report in the journal Nature, a recent survey found that 93% of NAS members are either atheists or agnostics. The biologists in the National Academy of Sciences were found to possess the lowest rate of belief of all the science disciplines, with only 5.5% believing in God.

Interesting that the science that studies life has the lowest belief rate. Why would that be, other than the greatest threat to religion is knowledge. And I doubt any of them rage against those that don't like Ringo and a few others.

Mathematics is my field (and computer science/engineering). Studied advanced mathematics... calculus, physics, discreet mathematics, Quantum mechanics, etc. Taught computer science and mathematics at a small college in the early 80's until I found it wasn't my thing.

The numbers are mind-boggling when you really think about them. Our galaxy has more stars than earth has grains of sand on all it's beaches. And our universe has at least that many galaxies. And we don't know, but we suspect there are many universes. At least mathematically we can concur that more than one universe may exist in the same space with dimensional boundaries. Quantum physics certainly shows this is possible. And quantum physics suggests that the elements of those universes may an entirely different makeup from those we know (as we define in the periodic chart of elements). Quantum mechanics also has determined that chaos actually contains order. What appear to be random patterns emerge as showing patterns when analyzed using very powerful computer processing. So randomness may actually be order. THAT would be very telling if we knew it to be true.

I believe this is precisely what prompted the Catholic church to declare life probably exists outside of earth and that would not negate the existence of God. They pretty much had to say it... everyone in science knows it.

P.S. I think ants are absolutely Marxist socialists... :sarcastic: Yesterday there was this huge line of ants crossing the driveway. Tens of thousands probably. My wife called them ISIS ants.

Exactly. We can look to the expansion of the universe, which we know to be a scientific fact, and conclude that at one time all this matter likely came from a single source, thus the big bang theory. But science is still somewhat unsure. So if a big-bang theory occurred it is deduced that prior to the bang there was a singularity. A singularity, which is also thought to exist within a black hole, is the point where mathematics and physics break-down. Thus prior to the big-bang the rules of science and mathematics don't exist at all. An entirely different set of mathematical and scientific rules wee in play. The formularies of science are an unknown at that time so the rule of science and mathematics are not what we know today. Perhaps the answer lies in string theory, a very interesting concept (but losing popularity).

Consider your post very carefully. And then answer this question I've asked you 6 or 8 times. Do you love your kids? Prove it. You keep avoiding this question but the last post has painted you into a corner. Consider this (not meaning antagonism). I've searched my soul for this answer since college and can't find it.

US population is almost 320,000,000, and estimates say that approx 10% do not believe in god(s).

Thus about 32,000,000 do not believe in god(s) and 1 of the 32,000,000 or 0.00000003125% of non-believers. The evidence that the other 31,999,999 are wrong is underwhelming.

On the other hand many preacher has seen the truth and become a non-believer. People whose life and career revolve around religion.

I wouldn't quite call 5 pastors changing their beliefs "many many more"...Considering the 600,000 clergy in service.

If that's the case, Google atheist becomes Christian. "Many many more" atheists started to believe after researching.

Xd, u can drag this discussion out as long as you like and may even get some who are not well grounded to thinking, if you have reservations about Christianity then I challenge you to sit down with 2 of the most godly men I have ever known, u seem to be big on intelligence so you'll be in luck because both men are highly intelligent and study more than any one I know, pastor cook was president of south land bible college in pikeville kentucky, and pastor Wilkerson was one of his students there in 70's , they would be glad to discuss with you doctrine , theology or anything else biblical, you just say the word and I'll arrange it, come now let us reason together saith the lord though your sins be Scarlet they shall be white as snow though they be as Crimson they shall be as wool, pastor cook has pastored and preached throughout the U.S. And even in foreign countries and lead tours in the holy land, pastor Wilkerson planted baptist churches in the northeast and worked with Russian bible society out of Asheville NC and in doing so preached in numerous foreign countries, pastor cooks mother wanted him to be a doctor and told him she would pay for his med school and he said no mother I've been called into the ministry, in first revival meeting he preached after he finished seminary his own mother came foward and received christ, God has used him tremendously during his ministry, this is an apostate age were living in and that's all part of the laodicean church were currently in so pastors falling by the wayside isn't surprising, confessed Christians are doing the same , the word of God says it would be like this , last days, but I would be glad to introduce you to these two godly men, what makes them godly? Clearly you have absolutely no idea how an atheist views the existence or more accurately the non-existence of deities, gods, demons, and the rest of the trappings of any of the fantasies about any of the aforementioned. There is nothing these mouthpieces would have to say that interests me at all for the simple reason it is based on the concept of the existence of god, heaven, hell, that simply is all man-made BS.

Yes, they may be charismatic speakers, some people are regardless of the topic, but babble is babble no matter the oratory skills of the speaker. How many countries visited, churches started, buy bulls handed out, is all immaterial, for the premise is pure bunk.

I've talked to several former theists that has rejected the concept of any god, and this happens not because of what anyone says to them, but because they begin to question what they have been taught, and it just don't add up. Why is the clergy so concerned about preachers that stop believing? Religion is beginning to look like a bad guy in the interrogation room in a cop drama on TV. The more they talk, the more inconsistencies and conflicts creep into the story, and the more their story falls apart.

The god of the gaps (in man's knowledge) is finding less and less space to exist in. Man is afraid of the unknown, and he filled the gaps in knowledge with "goddunit" and "god magic". Well those gaps are filling in with real knowledge, and religion is desperate to find justification for gods in the remaining gaps of knowledge.

Welcome to the forum scotty. No need to waste your time with xd & nr. I think they are pretty decent guys and I would welcome their friendship. But, I'm convinced they made their choices and they will have to suffer the consequences for them.

Many of us here have given links & posted true scientific evidence in order to help them see the light. They have access to true archeological, geological and physical data that fully discount atheism and support the Biblical record; yet they have refused to consider any of it. They are blind & rebellious by choice and choose to believe extremely outdated & disproven "theories" as they desperately hold on to their religion. It's sad; but their only hope is to have their eyes opened by the Holy Spirit.

I suggest just drop it as far as those two are concerned; except to pray for them. XD has offered some good posts here and on other forums outside of his religious beliefs and I enjoy some of them. But, I've already knock the dirt off my shoes and turned them over to the LORD.

Ah yes, when no reason, reality or factual information is available to support your position simply play the FEAR card. Do you really believe that is going to scare anyone into buying into the nonsense you spew? No one is going to hell, for it exists only in fairy tales and the minds of those that can't think beyond such nonsense.

Legible? Come on really you are going to defend that? The first two sentences average 158 word each. It is a wall of run on sentences.
