We all know thanks to the antics of open carry groups that there is not a right to open carry a holstered handgun in Texas.

Really Mr. Owens? Can you tell us which antics of which open carry groups caused open carry of handguns to be banned in 1973 when Texas statute 46.02 was passed? We'll wait. Your prejudice against open carry is overriding your ability to write the truth.

He read it as the author didn't know open carry of handguns was illegal, and thanks to OCT, every one knows now.

Could the author have meant it this way? Or like you think, does the author think OCT actually made it illegal to carry handguns?

I saw that piece maybe three or four days ago and initially had the same take as Navy did. I read it a couple of times though and came to the same conclusion as the commenter you cite. Since in the rest of the piece Owens is squarely in favor of legalizing OC of handguns, I think the commenter and I are right, but Owens still shows his bias by describing OCT's activism as "antics" in either case, so Navy is right too.

If I was in the bar when this went down I would be like everyone else in the bar seems to have. Selected memory loss! I would not be able to remember what the person looked like, if the person was male or female and even say that perhaps the robbers shot each other!!

IMHO this proves that gun free zones are a BAD idea.

What I got from this is it seems that the LE want to find the Hero more than they want to find the 2 BGs who got away. Also if they do happen to find the BGs will they charge them with bringing a gun into a bar???? Most likely not IMHO!!
