Blues, it's some scary crap for sure. I agree if someone wanted something like that on there gun that would be their choice, and money, but to be required is something else. I hope that day never comes. If it does you can count out. Amazing how LE would be exempt and I'm sure others too, except the general public. It's bad enough when your PC crashes, not to mention having to reboot your firearm. Besides a possibility of failure and a remote kill switch maybe gps tracking too. I don't think I'll ever sell another gun and a good idea to stock up on reloading equipment and supplies.
All true Cumberland, but don't be too cavalier about it being required only in the future. NJ is attempting to seize upon one gun store in CA having talked about selling the first smart gun, as well as another dealer in Maryland, thus starting the 3-year countdown to implementation of its law. If NJ gets away with mandating them, no doubt other anti-gun states won't be far behind.
The State Senator who authored NJ's law
has given an ultimatum to the N R A and GOA that if they will stop pressuring dealers who wish to sell the Armatix iP1 into backing down, then she will introduce legislation to repeal the law. Problem is, the law came before the technology was even available anywhere, and now she's saying she's trustworthy enough to back off of opposition to selling the one that is available now until after her law goes into effect by the first one being sold. In both cases, she's putting the cart before the horse. Repeal the law, and maybe opposition will dry up and some semblance of free market R&D and market viability on the product's merits will take place. I hope not, and I hope that opposition continues, because I know the government and it doesn't have the self-control to keep its hands off our gun rights, especially if there's any possibility that they can make the tired argument that, "It's for the widdow chirren!"
There's another wrinkle to Armatix story that all gun owners should be aware of, and they should also be very afraid of. Belinda Padilla is the President and CEO of Armatix, and she's a globalist anti-gunner who can be seen below speaking on behalf of the Small Arms Treaty that was Obama's wet dream. This is the developer of the only smart gun technology that's ever been attempted to be sold in America. For some reason, her status as an international gun-grabbing extremist isn't common knowledge amongst gun owners that I've seen and/or talked with. Listen up and think about what possible rationale she could have for trying to market this technology in America, knowing that if she's successful, NJ's smart gun law will go into effect, and now you and I and everyone reading knowing that she's a globalist gun-grabber. Don't get cavalier about these people. They cannot be trusted under any circumstances.
