Greetings from South West Florida! I'm a recent transplant from California; and as I'm sure you've heard, being a gun owner in CA is NOT FUN. Moving to Florida is like Disneyland for gun nuts! Since moving here a year ago I've picked up so many wonderful new "toys" that I can't help but taking pictures of them and sharing them with my friends back in CA.

Here is a shot of my most recent aquisition, the S&W Governor!

Being a de-facto "keyboard jockey" I make my living by writing software for mobile devices like the iPhone and iPad. Learning to shoot is one of the many ways I like to get away from the computer and "disconnect".

I look forward to getting to know you all more.

Hi folks. I live in a small town about 50 miles northeast of Indianapolis, IN. My wife and I both own Springfield XD 9mm sub-compact. This looks like a good place to learn things. I already checked out some IN law that was new to me. I was born the year Albert Einstein died and always considered myself a reincarnation of old Al. Never could convince anybody else, though. I'm always puzzled by that ;-)

@gse155: Did he pass on his hair? :>) Always enjoyed the strawberries at the inlaws (not outlaws) farm in Indiana. Back then the 'Honey Dippers' served the farms. I liked their cute daughters. :>)

You were smart enough to get on this forum so I reckon it's true....

Another noob to the forum from the northwest corner of the Pacific Northwest. Been carrying for a while, although recently decided to pursue getting permits from other states - received my Utah permit in the mail yesterday, have an appointment with a sheriff in Oregon in a couple of weeks, . . .

Good to hear about Wisconsin!!!! Link Removed

FYI, my preferred daily carry is a Kahr K9, although somedays I'll opt for some more horsepower and carry one of our 1911's or my Sig P226R 357-SIG. And there are somedays when something smaller is in order like the Sig P238. Thinking about adding a Kahr PM45 to the collection as a solid alternative to the Kahr K9.

The forum admin is in Tampa and so am I so I have to think that the more southern that is spoken here the better we will like it. All others will probably have to take the y' off of 'all.:haha:

Let me offer a Happy July 4th and a Big Howdy from Deep in the Heart of Texas to all the new members. I hope you find this site as helpful as I have.

Thank y'all for a great 4th of July. Watched a small town parade with our family, Stood in salute to Our United States of America Flag as it was marched by, carried by 'The Legion', escorted by the armed 'Union' (not yet sure about that one :>) re-enactors. Observed lots of antique tractors, cars trucks, motorcycles. Kids on Red White and Blue decorated farm trailers tossed candy and squirted us with water guns. Ate a New Mexico (pretty far south hey?) Carne Adovada Burrito with Beans and rice. Sat outside in the evening as the neighborhood families set off a few 'very legal' fireworks in the center of our street. By partaking in these time honored traditions, I read that the latest University of HARVARD study, now views us as 'Right Wing' (extremists? :>)

@sgt Bush: We wholeheartedly support 'The 'Border Sheriff Project'. Hope All Patriots contribute to help defend them from attack by endless lawsuits, created by the presently elected and appointed Washington DC foreign 'thuggery' in Power.

Hello, I just stumbled on this forum looking for a gun range near Alpena, MI. I have to go up there for a sales call tomorrow and would like to hit the range. I am an active member of a couple of automotive forums and enjoy the knowledge gained from this format. I personally carry a Sig Sauer P232 stainless, today I have my Hogue Coco Bolo Hardwood grip on it. My first exposure to hand guns was while in the Army as a Military Police Officer. Back then we carried 45 caliber 1911's. I qualified as an Expert with that old sloppy gun and was hooked ever since. Glad to be on board.
