Free people own guns!
Your in Good Company
On August 7, 1920, the German government passed the Gesetz über die Entwaffnung der Bevölkerung (Law on the Disarmament of the People). This law created the office of Reichskommissar for Disarmament of the Civil Population. This official was tasked with making a list of “military weapons” that were subject to immediate seizure. Sound familiar?
Assault Weapons - United States Senator Dianne Feinstein
Perhaps the most frightening and foreboding provision of the law was that requiring all citizens with knowledge of anyone hoarding ammo or who owned outlawed weapons to turn in to the Reichskommissar the names of these people. Neighbors spying on neighbors. Sound familiar?

Why you didn't immediately report the alleged illegal gun possessor shows your disregard for others and my safety by allowing this individual to continue on with his law breaking. So a $500.00 bribe is what is needed for you to do what is right? I find that disturbing to say the least!

I don't see the big deal. The only change in handgun possession is the seven round limit. No one is calling a tip line to report someone has ten rounds in their mag... how would they know unless the person carrying it tells everyone. And if you're telling people you're an idiot anyway. As far as the tip line? Illegally posses a handgun and give me the chance to make money on it? Hell yes. You're going. There's a guy at my club who has been denied a CCW twice due to violence and repeated drunken dis-con convictions. Last week he pulls me aside to show me this junk .22 cal pocket rocket. Carrying it with no pocket holster and no safety. He's high as a steeple, is waving it around in unsafe directions, is in violation of club rules and the state penal law. He's a nutjob, he's violent, he's a drunk and he's carrying irresponsibly and illegally. He's a walking train wreck. I've now told him twice to get off the range with it and don't bring it on the property. The next time I see it the call is being made. I told him this to his face. If he doesn't like it... well... he knows where to find me.
.
I've called LE a number of times where people came to my range stinking of beer and in one case where the car doors opened to the sweet smell of ganja. I'm not getting shot by some ass who puffs weed and drinks on his way to my range.
.
Tip lines exist for a zillion things from reporting gas odors to 1-800-cop-shot. If I can make a buck turning in "Flaco the hoodrat" with a piece in his waistband I'm doing it. I don't give a damn about Flaco's rights... purely because Flaco has no respect for mine, for anyone or anything. Hell, a buck is a buck.

Yes, NY has recently made some bad decisions. But for those in other states, go to the local bar armed and have a drink. Or go in a bank, church, restaurant, hospital, bus, doctor's office psych center or public building. Are you breaking the law? We're not.
