When Men Were Men & Women Knew It.

Maybe its just me but is there something missing in today's men?

My work place has about 150 people in it, 200,000 for the company total.

The mix of male and female is pretty even.
I have noticed over my 20+ years at this location that men seem to be more wimps than ever before.
Until now I thought it was just a personal observation or possible prejudice but then something interesting happened.

A supervisor began dating a very nice young lady and was very taken with her. As the relationship evolved I was privy to both sides of the relationship.
The male was telling his side about where they would go and what they would do, and she was telling the same story but with a slight twist. Her major complaint was the guy just had no balls. (Not physical balls, intestinal balls)
Interestingly enough the last straw for the young lady was an evening when they were watching Duck Dynasty (I really don't like that show anymore) and he asked if people really went out shooting and hunting like that.
Her reply was Yes, they do, and she does as well. As the conversation went on according to her, he asked if she could teach him to shoot. Her reply, again according to her was, You should already know how to shoot, your a man aren't you?

That was their last evening together.
I have heard very young girls (in their early 20's) make little comments about this guy or that guy not being like their dad. Until now I just thought this was a daughter loving her daddy, but maybe not.

Maybe its a good thing. The harsh edge of a man getting dulled a bit. Maybe the world will be a little calmer... IMHO, Not a good thing.
My wife thinks I'm a bit to harsh sometimes and maybe call it like I see it to often. But I am who I am and I hope my youngest son (12) grows up to be a man much like my oldest boys (35 & 36), his father, and his grand father.

Young boys and men have been programmed by the educational system to not behave in the manner that genetics meant them to. Don't be physical, don't be "bold", on and on. We saw this coming, our son just missed it when he was in school. Our three grandsons have no doubt that they will grow to be men. Grandfathers and fathers can do a lot to counteract the educational system. How many fathers don't hunt or shoot anymore? I know taking care of a family and making a living cut into your time, but make the time to spend with your kids, there is a great deal you can teach them that they will never get in school. And that goes for you girls too, the time you give them is beyond value, no school can match it.

The young lady you mentioned should have just told the fellow that they both needed a new man in their lives!

Gee, they still play dodgeball in school today but back the the 70's when we played it it was called "Smear the Queer".

I'm 50yo and it's easy to see what happened to the Men of today.

Back when they were growing up their dads were too busy hanging out with other men, drinking, hunting, fishing, etc and having a good ol' time with other men while their son was at home being raised by their mom because their dad was too busy spending time with other men to spend time with his wife or kids.

As the young boys turned into men, like their dads they like to hung out with other men but since they were raised by their mom and don't know how to do "Manly stuff" they do "girly stuff".

Luckily for me my Dad, Uncle and others would always dang us along so their wives would think they were out chasing women.

I live in rural Arkansas and work in a manufacturing plant with 120 men and 3 women out in the plant and even though most of the men are hard core rednecks w/ 4x4 pickups and their lives revolve around deer camp most are "ball less wonders" as I call them.

I ask several of them all the time if their mom castrated them as a little boy.
