Hope I'm not too late to this party.

I'm 357 Sig all the way for EDC weapons - Glock 31 and 32, and a Sig P226. Have a 1911 45 ACP and KelTec PF9, but don't carry either one.

I took a conceal carry class the other night.
15 people in the class.
12 Shields, one Glock, one Ruger and one HK (one of the new Sk's sweet gun)
all 9mm.
The instructor said 95% of the students that come in and take these classes are carrying 9mm

I have carried both 9mm and 40 cal.
99% of the time its the 9mm Glock 19 because it's a comfortable carry and it was just one of those guns the fell into my hand and made its self at home.
My G22 is a close second, but is not as comfortable a carry gun, so it stays in the nightstand for the most part.

9mm is the most popular because it's inexpensive to practice with, easy to carry, packs a punch and penetrates well with minimal recoil compared to say a 40mm pistol. I prefer a 45acp with 185+p ammo. It penetrates like the 9mm, has twice or more times the force upon impact of the 9mm, moderate recoil because it's heavier than 9mm pistols. It is larger, but I carry it well, it holds 10+1 rounds and is the most reliable of my handguns. I figure if I take a headshot, the 9mm could be deflected by the skull, where the 45 would not likely be deflected away.

I carry with .380 ACP, 9mm, and 45 ACP right now, but mostly with the 9mm because it is the best gun I have for the moment for concealed carry. The pistol also takes 17+1 which is kind of nice insurance.

My most frequent EDC is a Sig P938. As I'm frequently on the road I sometimes carry Sig P228 - both 9mm. 228 has 18+1 vs 7+1 on the 938.
I recently picked up a P226 but haven't found a holster for cc that I like - what are you using to carry yours?

I use the Alien Gear IWB holster to carry my full-size glock 21. Very comfortable, doesn't dig into your side, and can barely even notice I carry. Would recommend to anyone for any fun. Best purchase I've made for holsters
