"People I the US?"After many years I have sold my .357, .38, all my 9mm's, and both of my .380's. The only two guns I own now are my Bersa Thunder .32 and a Kel Tec P-32 both in .32 acp. I have realized that because I shoot them so well that they will defend me well at home or when out. I believe that people in the U. S. should realize how good a round the .32 acp is which was very popular in Europe for many years.

AS a combat veteran, I can tell you that unless you practice with your .32 ACP and the targets you are shooting at are shooting back, you have not prepared to engage in an actual threat where your life is actually on the line... I spent 22 months ( 2 tours ) in combat... you can play GI Joe all you want , but tell me the last time you pissed your pants and cried when you took an actual life for the first time? ( I can tell you for me it was May 18 1966 ). When taking the life of a stationary target down range at your local gun range?? I can tell you, if you ever need to defend your life and that of your family.. do not depend on shot placement, because under stress of a real life threat you are lucky if you unload your weapon and get one hit... almost ever police action where gun fire is exchanged, there are many round exchanged from seasoned and well trained police officers.. recently 2 cops ( one guy was a sergeant ) in Ohio fired 56 9mm rounds at one bad guy with an AK-47 who wanted to die.. demanding that the cops shoot him ) who was not moving around and in the open at 20 feet. They fired 56 9mm rounds from the cover of their squad car and were only able to hit the guy 6 times.. four were non lethal. and they missed 50 out of 56 shots taken.. Ive carried a 1911 45 ACP for 50 years, I continue to carry a 45 ACP and have done so as a civilian for 40 years... If i'm going to take a swing at a bad buy, I want to swing a big hammer , not a tack hammer.. Kinetic shock from a 45 ACP can slow down a threat even if its not a vital hit... a .32 in a non lethal spot will only piss off an adrenalin pumped bad guy. After many years I have sold my .357, .38, all my 9mm's, and both of my .380's.
