Small pistols?

Check out the Kahr CM9, about the same size as most available .380s', with the more powerful-9mm. Couple up with a Remora Holster that fits, and can be worn in the pocket or IWB, you pick where and when. Good luck in your search.

I like my TCP, I will carry IWB @ 1300 during the summer with an NAA .22lr Mini in my right front pocket. The recoil is meh w/ the TCP, I put some inner tube around the grip and upgraded to floor plates with finger extensions... it helps.

I have actually been interested in the NAA Gaurdian in either .32naa or .25naa. Has anybody handled one of these before?

I was looking at getting one of the super small .380s like the Keltec P3AT, but they are kind of uncomfortable because I have fairly large hands. So I started looking at something more like the PF9 or a Beretta Nano. Still small, but slightly larger. I'm a pretty skinny guy (29" - 30" waist) so I would think that having a larger gun would be harder for me to conceal. Any thoughts for the thin guys with man hands?

I have a 31" waist myself. 5'6" 115lbs. I EDC a Beretta Nano or Walther PPQ. I have also carried a Kahr K9, a Gov't 1911, and Tokarev TT33. I have no problem at all concealing them without printing with as little as shorts and a T-shirt.
I have a variety of holsters including leather OWB, Hybrid IWB, AIWB, and belly-bands.

These are a few with a belly band, the Nano, and two 8rnd spare mags. I don't have a handy shot of me wearing the PPQ, but it conceals just as well right up against my kidney. at around 4 o'clock. I even carry a Fobus paddle mag carrier with two spare mags when I carry AIWB or wear the hybris at 4 o'clock. With the t-shirt untucked I can hide everything. Tucked T-shirt, I can hide the gun, but the paddle mag holder has to go since it sits outside the pants.

Try the Taurus PT111 its 9mm. My tiny 100 pound wife carrys one everywhere. Easy for her to conceal and all she wears are skin tight clothes. I carry one as a back up to my glock.

GUN CARRYING AMERICAN PATRIOT!!!!

You also might want to look at the Taurus PT709 Slim(9mm) or PT740 Slim(40 s&w). Both are less than an inch wide and weigh about 19 oz.

GlassWolf, does the belly-band interfere with your pump infusion site?

Not at all. I alternate sites every 3 days, and generally use the kidney area, hips, sides of the stomach, and thighs. I don't really have enough meat on my arms to use those as sites, and my stomach itself is all scar tissue so I can't use that area due to all the adhesion tissue. The band doesn't get in the way of any of it, though. Honestly the holster that does cause me the most trouble in that regard is my hybrid IWB, but only when I use my right hip/butt as the infusion site, since the holster's bottom edge usually ends up right over top of the site, so they rub.. or my right kidney area for the same reason.. The belly band is just elastic though, so even if it goes right over an infusion site it doesn't affect anything (I use soft canulas on my infusion sites, so no metal needles like the old stuff from years ago.)

or if you really want something small, look into a .22 magnum derringer.

With this said, in short barreled .22 pistols such as a derringer or NAA Mini... you're better served shooting .22lr instead of .22 WMR. The ballistic and terminal advantage of .22 WMR over the .22lr is near null. Like shooting .357 mags in a snubby instead of a .38Spl, you just get more flash and recoil with minimal terminal advantage.

My .02 cents...

Admittedly I haven't seen terminal ballistics for .22HMR/WMR for barrels that are 2" or so, which I didn't consider adequately. Out of a service sized weapon though, .22 mag is a pretty surprisngly powerful little round. I've heard reports of that round penetrating soft body armor when shot from a rifle.

.22 WMR from a rifle/carbine barrel isn't a plinking round, that's for sure. Some of the research I've done indicates that you start to get the most out of the .22 WMR at 10" and it progresses from there. Of course, .22 WMR in a 6" revolver isn't a slouch and there, the performance advantage goes to the magnum over the long rifle.

This is really good to know. I am looking at a Charter Arms or a NAA Derringer for pocket carry. There are some places I can't carry that I would like to carry.
Thanks gunnerbob.

I have an NAA Mini .22lr with me everywhere I go... everywhere.

The Dress Pants I wear for work all have an inner pocket at the bottom. I'm figuring one of those will hold nicely in that pocket.
We are not permitted to carry at work. I have decided I no longer want to place my safety in the hands of random luck.
We sometimes terminate people who really could come back and be "The Shooter". After 19 years 10 months with the company I am surprised it hasn't happened in my location yet.
It has in other locations in the company.
In December I get my Dividend Check, That is on the Early Christmas List.

a friend of mine works at a a local large sporting goods chain similar to a bass pro shops or cabella's. They recently fired a guy who did nothing but spend every paycheck buying more guns and ammo, and had at one point threatened other employees with "going home, getting one of his AR-15s and some 30 round mags, and shooting up the place and random employees." Unfortunately he was friends with several of the store management so it was difficult to get rid of the guy. Eventually it got back to management, and he was suspended from the store for a few weeks. He came back, went off the deep end and started screaming at people (obviously mentally unstable) and was then fired.
I should also mention that my friend is black, and the person in question had made numerous veiled racial slurs and comments to or about my friend.

Needless to say, my friend is like you and carries at work, disregarding the company policy. He, like you, would rather find a new job than end up shot by a bozo like that guy.

I had a NAA Mini with interchangeable 22LR and 22WMR cylinders. It was really cute but the accuracy was horrid, regardless of caliber. I am a pretty decent shot, and very consistent, but at 3 yards it looked like I threw a handful of bullets at the target. That combined with the fact that after 5 rounds reloading is not an option in a real SD scenario relinquished it to the "toy" category.

The fact that I bought it for $75 and sold it for $200 made it a great investment. If you must have one, they now make the "sidewinder" which keeps the cylinder attached to the frame like a regular revolver. I would definitely recommend shooting one before actually buying it.

My choice was to get a Ruger LCP: deadly accurate consistently to about 15 yds (for me), 6+1 with as many spare mags as you want to carry, and it weighs about the same as a touch-screen cell phone. It fits well in all my pants pockets (short or long pants), and while it's primarily a back up gun when I leave the house, it is the gun I carry me when I am at home. It also looks cool next to my LC9

There are similar .380's out there if you don't like Ruger for some reason.

Hope your friend is working when the guy comes back and shoots the place up. Because he sure sounds like the kind that will do just that. And your friend is probably the only other one in the place that will have a gun.

I am glad to see a lot of the smaller waisted guys posting here. I wear 30 pants and hiding even a semi compact is comical unless I wear baggy clothes, not my style.

I have had bigger guns in more impressive calibers and sizes and just never carried them. Too much of a chore and having to dress around the gun seems backwards. I like it to work with how dress.

I only carry a Ruger LCP or a S&W Bodyguard. My preferred carry is a wallet holster. It does not home out of my pocket with the gun. Sometimes I carry appendix as well.

I really like wallet holsters as they print like a wallet. There is not the grip and then a space and then the rest of the gun
