Self-defense shooting on video: charged but aquitted

Seems like a good result from what I've read but of course being arrested and tried alone would be enough to ruin your life. Not really clear if the confrontation required deadly force but apparently a jury found it did.

I understand why the guy was arrested till everything could be sorted out. What I don't understand is why this even went to the grand jury let alone a petit jury. You didn't mention which kind of a jury found him innocent.

What I saw was one guy in a car trying to get away from two men in another vehicle. He was in such a hurry he did not take the time to park properly. He felt in enough danger that he was trying to get into, what appeared to be, a police station. I can see no reason that this guy should spend even one night in jail. If I missed something, please, let me know.

I agree. Looks like SD to me. I think there was some allegations that the guy who shot the aggressor had an affair with the others woman. But still seems clear that he was being attacked by the bad guy.

This is precisely what appears to have happened. Of course, the woman (whom apparently had an affair with Waller while in a relationship with Childress) then went on to make Waller appear to be the aggressor, but I think it's clear who was being the aggressor when the Childress jumped out of the car and rushed over to the black car as though he was going to attack Waller.

What's sad is the decedent felt it important to take aggressive offense on the person of the defender, who justly defended himself with deadly force IN FRONT OF A POLICE STATION and it was all CAPTURED ON VIDEO, and yet the system still saw fit to punish the defender by putting him at jeopardy of life, liberty, and property in the first place. Yes, he's still alive, but how much of his property is he going to be forced to sell at a loss in order to raise the money to pay for his legal defense? That loss is the punishment the DA chose to inflict upon the defender for the DA's lack of vision, literal and figurative.

My question is was he in fear for his life...I don't mean about a physical confrontation....he should of stayed in the locked car, in front of the Police Station and HONKED REALLY LOUD!!! I didn't see a weapon other than testosterone...did he the other guy have something on him that the shooter was aware of? IDK

Yes, because when a violent assault is predicted, the place you want to be is strapped in a seated position.... honking a horn.
