The upstate voter isn't who elected Cuomo. You have to understand NY politics. NYC controls 40% of the total vote... one city. The upstate folks don't have enough of a voting block to offset NYC and Albany. So there goes the neighborhood. It's not so much the people of NY who elected him as it is the people of NYC. Everyone upstate seems to hate this guy.Apparently over 60% of the people of the State of New York who voted Cuomo in gave him the authority.
If it is the upstate folks that are moving south and not the socialist libs city dwellers, then why would that drive up our taxes, we aren't increasing our public assistance programs. Hopefully Gov Haley and our legislature will pass welfare drug testing and removal of junk foods in SNAP.
I was not aware of that. What's happening? Is it becoming a mini "San Francisco?" I need to look into this because I don't want to live in a "progressive" locality.you do realize that asheville is rapidly becoming an alt-lifestyle mecca, right? have fun with your move.

You guys think that movement could grow enough to start affecting politics and gun rights?Asheville is a very progressive, liberal city. It's a very pro gay, pro liberal and socialist mecca.

Has anyone ran across any restaurants that have posted no CWP signs?
So far the Roost Restaurant in Greenville has posted no guns allowed.
I find that hard to believe. A civil suit is going to pertain to the incident itself. If you are not found guilty of committing a crime in the self defense act itself, you are immune from civil suits. That's like saying if they found out you just got a speeding ticket 5 minutes prior to shooting someone then you'll be sued civily because you just got done committing a crime.I do hope you realize that if it is against the law for you to CC in the restaurant that serves alcohol (which has now changed in SC) or has the legal signage prescribed by law (which has now been further reinforced in the new law) and you leave the restaurant and have a "what if" that results in injury or death at your hands, the investigation will reveal that you were in possession of your firearm illegally as you broke the law by having it CC in a location that prohibits the firearm by law. You now face, if not manslaughter (probably not) but certainly a civil suit that will allow the family of the injured or dead BG to own everything you once owned. Ya broke the law in first place. I understand your reply and as far as I am concerned, it is this alcohol aspect of the old law that now is fixed--if you insist on carrying when a sign is in place after the passage of the new law and "get caught", particularly in the above "what if" scenario--you will face a fine, you will lose your firearm, you will lose your CCWP, you may go to jail (if someone dies or injured by you) and civilly you will lose everything. Hey ya gonna do what you gotta do. Personally, no restaurant that has a sign is worth my limits on defense, particularly at night in downtown Charleston on a dark street or a dark parking garage.
My family loves J Peters and for my dad's birthday a week ago that's where he wanted to go. With much reluctance, I went. As I was walking in the door, I noticed there was not a single sign to be seen. But a few weeks prior I know I saw one there. So they must have taken it down. This was at the one in downtown Anderson. I cannot speak for any of his other establishments.J Peter's restaurants in upstate area. Anderson, Oconee, Pickens areas. Includes Johnny Angells and Catch & Fetch in Anderson. Mr. Angell stated before restaurant carry passed that guns would never be allowed in his establishments. Count on me to not support his businesses.
Going by #4 where it says "forty-five degree angle from the horizontal". Is that THE horizontal, or just the horizontal of the sign itself. Because just by saying "the horizontal", couldn't that mean that if the angle of the diagonal line is not a PERFECT 45 degree angle from level, then it is not a legal sign?Nope those signs are completely legal. Here's the info about signage requirements-

I am very open minded when it comes to cultural diversity, and I like a lot of the stuff that Greenville is doing with respect to culturally related events and festivals. But the shame of it seems to be that the more a city grows with this respect, the more liberal it becomes indeed. I can see this happening big time in downtown Greenville.I think liberalism is a disease that spreads like a cancer unless it is stopped. So, I do think it is possible.
Charlotte, Durham, Fayetteville, Greensboro and places on the coast of NC have indeed been strongly affected by liberalism. Also, SC has the Upstate, Charleston and now Myrtle Beach that seem to be growing in liberalism at the local levels.
The good news (for now at least), is that it does seem to be fairly contained in the metro areas and a few small cities like Florence. But, we need to stay vigilant.

If you're in the Myrtle Beach area and like an affordable buffet, well, scratch off Golden Corral. This manager was a serious mask mandate collaborator, and then, as soon as the open carry law took effect, he put up this sign.Has anyone ran across any restaurants that have posted no CWP signs?
