The upstate voter isn't who elected Cuomo. You have to understand NY politics. NYC controls 40% of the total vote... one city. The upstate folks don't have enough of a voting block to offset NYC and Albany. So there goes the neighborhood. It's not so much the people of NY who elected him as it is the people of NYC. Everyone upstate seems to hate this guy.
.
The taxes in NC are already increasing. And a larger population means more services and more taxes.

you do realize that asheville is rapidly becoming an alt-lifestyle mecca, right? have fun with your move.
I was not aware of that. What's happening? Is it becoming a mini "San Francisco?" I need to look into this because I don't want to live in a "progressive" locality.

Asheville is a very progressive, liberal city. It's a very pro gay, pro liberal and socialist mecca.

You guys think that movement could grow enough to start affecting politics and gun rights?

I think liberalism is a disease that spreads like a cancer unless it is stopped. So, I do think it is possible.

Charlotte, Durham, Fayetteville, Greensboro and places on the coast of NC have indeed been strongly affected by liberalism. Also, SC has the Upstate, Charleston and now Myrtle Beach that seem to be growing in liberalism at the local levels.

The good news (for now at least), is that it does seem to be fairly contained in the metro areas and a few small cities like Florence. But, we need to stay vigilant.

It appears (from Wiki & US Elections) only the western portion of NY and a small portion west of Albany did not vote for Cuomo.

Has anyone ran across any restaurants that have posted no CWP signs?

So far the Roost Restaurant in Greenville has posted no guns allowed.

I wonder about this Roost place. I was there not too long ago and noticed that you can get to it from inside the hotel. State law says that a sign must be posted at every possible entrance. So to me, unless that posted signs on the hotel entrance, the sign is no good.

I find that hard to believe. A civil suit is going to pertain to the incident itself. If you are not found guilty of committing a crime in the self defense act itself, you are immune from civil suits. That's like saying if they found out you just got a speeding ticket 5 minutes prior to shooting someone then you'll be sued civily because you just got done committing a crime.

My family loves J Peters and for my dad's birthday a week ago that's where he wanted to go. With much reluctance, I went. As I was walking in the door, I noticed there was not a single sign to be seen. But a few weeks prior I know I saw one there. So they must have taken it down. This was at the one in downtown Anderson. I cannot speak for any of his other establishments.

Nope those signs are completely legal. Here's the info about signage requirements-

Going by #4 where it says "forty-five degree angle from the horizontal". Is that THE horizontal, or just the horizontal of the sign itself. Because just by saying "the horizontal", couldn't that mean that if the angle of the diagonal line is not a PERFECT 45 degree angle from level, then it is not a legal sign?

I am very open minded when it comes to cultural diversity, and I like a lot of the stuff that Greenville is doing with respect to culturally related events and festivals. But the shame of it seems to be that the more a city grows with this respect, the more liberal it becomes indeed. I can see this happening big time in downtown Greenville.

Meaning NO disrespect but I give a RATS A$$ about "cultural diversity". WE ARE Americans, assimilate or don't. That goes for those that need to state they are African-Americans. You be American or NOT. Plain, simple and to the point. Relish your heritage, enjoy your contribution to this American Dream and be part of it. BUT bottom line is that your American or NOT. Dammit, there is NO in between. Illegals are just that. This is not about semantics but the Rule of Law. Ah, that be American Law.

Hey, no problem for African-American. As long as they start calling me German-American, my wife Italian-American, and my friend English-American. If you are not happy being an "American" feel free to find a plane, boat, or car to a different country. I am so tired of the PC and bending over backwards to the minorities who feel so sort of entitlement. You worried about equality? Well then STOP looking for special treatment. Would you like a "White Miss America Pageant" or "White TV" As a nod to all our ILLEGALS I will be happy to give you equal rights. The same equal rights Mexico will give illegals in their country. Want that?

If you're in the Myrtle Beach area and like an affordable buffet, well, scratch off Golden Corral. This manager was a serious mask mandate collaborator, and then, as soon as the open carry law took effect, he put up this sign.
