rules for traveling with your hand gun in south Carolina

I have a ccp in Georgia. I know my permit isn't valid in south Carolina but, I need to know the rules I need to follow while I'm there. I am driving there and do not plan to travel without my gun. Can anyone tell me what I need to do once I get to SC state line and is it legal to have my gun loaded while in my hotel room?

Well my thinkin is better to be judge by 12 instead of carried by 6.

Keep the gun in the center console or glove compartment, can be loaded. You can have it loaded in your hotel room, but to get it there you will have to carry it in unloaded and in a case.

It is also required by law to notify a police upon first contact of the presence of the firearm.

Hi Welcome to our state. Once you cross the stateline , to be legal place the loaded or unloaded gun in the glove box or another compartment with a latch . It does not have to be locked . You cannot carry except to and from your hotel roomand the car. That room you rent is considered your home for Castle Doctrine purposes.
